Selling just one side of it? Wouldn't that be sort of like selling the paint off of your car?

I would think the investment to make it fit any other piece of terrain would be substantial. Remember, the "fall" is only like 300 feet, but the mountain necessitates the tower to be 415.

I still think that it's really the freefall for sale :)

I emailed the dude who was selling it and asked him if it was the real thing and i am waiting on a reply but i think its someone who was bored and created an account

The market *glut* of first-gen freefalls is making the price DROP like a rock...or like a freefall.. ;)

Well.. S:TE is NOT in Nashville nor is SF INC. (They are in NYC) and the actualy coaster is in Valencia NOT Nashville.

Well, now I realise the SELLER is in Nashville but if SF was to post it how come NONE of SF's other rides are under this user name including the bunch of freefalls they just posted not too long ago.

Which parks have a good spot for a ride like this? As stated above, this ride is outdated and not as advertised. 100 mph? Not even when running empty! I can't see any parks being interested...

Somebody should just call the number posted.

$125k? Who the frick would take this thing for free?

If i bought it i would scrap it and I would proably get some money.

If you havent ever seen it its huge and there is a ton of metal used to build this thing

Don't forget that whomever buys it will more than likely have to pay for it to be dismantled, moved, redesigned for a new site, modifications, and reconstructed somewhere else, which adds up to a lot of dough. If SF wants to get rid of this ride, they are basically going to have to give it away, and hopefully save themselves the cost of deconstruction.

Not to mention the cost of running (I heard the energy required per launch is equivalant to powering a small city) and maintenance for such an huge oversized redundant ride.

Maybe in the title name they just forgot to put the "Reverse" in front of "Freefall"?

Considering all the Intamin 1st-gen freefalls at SF parks are for sale my bet is that the pics are wrong.

^ Unless Magic Mountain's Freefall (already listed at $100,000) is listed AGAIN, then I don't think so.

However, if you're arguing that the pics are wrong, then how do you explain all the ride's specifications? I don't know of any 100-mph, 415-feet high 1st-Generation Freefall rides.

These rides are sold by agents, just like houses. Parks will chose the agent that works best for them.

As for the price, add me to the list of folks who think the $125k is correct - as the logistics of getting that behemoth out of the park will be a nightmare.

SFMM has long depreciated the ride and got more than enough press when it opened "way back when".

It's not really a legacy ride (like Magnum, Revolution, Beast, or Raven) so selling it is pretty uncontroversial.

If I was in the market for a freefall ride, I would put a pole on the top. It would make the ride 460' and give it the record of tallest roller coaster on the planet.

I think it would be funny as hell if Demon Drop was on sale for more than S:TE.

Seriously, in some way I could see it being the real deal. Save 100+ grand on operation, plus get 100K just for getting rid of the thing. Sounds good to me (if I were pretty much in bankruptcy...)

I though we all knew by now that S:TE still *can* run as fast as 100mph... but they choose not to run it that fast due to an agreement on power usage. *** Edited 12/15/2006 9:19:38 AM UTC by Scottt***

How about buying BOTH sides, putting them back to back, then adding a small *crown* on top.....make it taller than KK... ;)
