I dont know if this has been a topic in the past but the rollercoaster finally opened up again in September.

I cant believe this hasnt been talked about ever well at least i cant remeber but, i think this thing doesnt get enough attention that it proably deserves.

I am really just starting stuff. Sorry if this has been already posted

I wounder if they changed out the trains to some new ones!!!

I am not really sure but it doesnt really look like it but I think if i was ever in the area i would love to hit it up

The Japanese are really superstitious about these sort of things, that's why it didn't open up for three years. It easily could have opened up in a couple of months after the incident, but didn't because of the superstitions.

About the ride itself, I've never been on it, but from what I've heard is that the lift takes forever (I think there can be two trains on the lift hill at once) and it gives crazy air. It honestly looks like a really big Magnum from the track color & tunnels.

In 2003, a wheel flew off one of the trains and hit a bystander on the ground.

I could have read a book on the lift. As for the ride, think giant Steel Force/Mamba and you pretty much getthe idea.

That idea sounds wonderful. Its definitely a dream of mine to ride that one day. White Cyclone doesn't look too shabby either. :)

I'm sure there were modifications made to the trains. Morgan had a rough time with larger track and supports to build a ride with that kind of speed and forces. So I'm sure they've now learned that the cars can't handle it as well as the tracks unless changes are made.

I'm sorry, maybe it's just late, but "..if i was ever in the area i would love to hit it up" is probably one of the funniest things I've read in a while..

Do you normally go to Japan that you might possibly, just coincidentally, be in the area?

I mean, Knott's/MM/Disney if you're in LA, IoA/Disney if you're in Florida.. or even some of the other US Parks if you happen to be road tripping around.. but Japan? Not exactly stopping for milk at the grocery store on your way home. :)

With that said, I'm with you there on wanting to ride it! :) I'm just 99.9% sure that when I do, the trip will be to Japan for the purpose of going to parks (along with some other sight-seeing)

If you're planning on going to Japan to ride White Cyclone, save the airfare.

(Of course there's a LOT of amazing stuff to do in Japan, and I can't wait to go back, but White Cyclone is NOT one of those things...)

When I rode White Cyclone in 2001 it was in my top 10. Greg obviously caught it in a bad year/day.

The first time I rode it it seemed like a decent ride, though not particularly exciting one way or another. Helixes alone do not a coaster make!

However, on my second ride, the same day I might add, it was brutally rough.

Perhaps one train is good and one train is bad?

I was on RCDB and I didnt realize how good that whole park is.

I want to go there.

Richard...the helixes were nice, but the air when I rode it was just divine! I felt it almost had better air than SD2K. Not more plentyful, just more fun.

Audioslaved: Sometime when search is back up, dig up my detailed trip report from 2001....it's a killer park. It's like the Cedar Point of Japan.
