The wife is currently learning Japanese and we hope to make the journey next fall.

Perhaps one train is good and one train is bad?
Quite possible.
Peabody, I don't remember ANY air in White Cyclone. Actually, I wasn't all that impressed with the park as a whole, either. It was fun, but nothing earth-shattering. I WOULD go back now that Steel Dragon has reopened, though.

White Cyclone doesn't look too shabby either. If you're planning on going to Japan to ride White Cyclone, save the airfare.
(Of course there's a LOT of amazing stuff to do in Japan, and I can't wait to go back, but White Cyclone is NOT one of those things...)
Two words on white cyclone Greg...Togo/RCCA.Need I,or anyone else here say more?

I do. I say that Intamin AG built White Cyclone and neither Togo nor RCCA had anything to do with it.
ps I rode it in '02

Rob went about 6 months before I did I believe, so it must have been a season long thing. It wasn't brand new then, so I wonder if it just had serious retracking/work that year. According to you guys who rode it in 2002, it must have gone downhill, though!

Yeah, we all know the REAL reason to go to Nagashima is White Cyclone.
Word. I thought it was the best thing of the day, with their Schwartzkopfs (more than one!), and the vertical lift Ultra Twister being close 2nds.
Steel Dragon was a great ride, but I only got 2 rides, and wasn't overwhelmed with it. I will say one thing that was a huge plus, though. That long 2-chain lift was great for creating anticipation. That drop seemed to last forever as well. :)
