Layout of Knott's new MACK GmBH free-spinning train coaster

Well, the official announcement from Knott's should be anyday now...the new coaster's manufacturer has pretty much tipped it off so it's going to be not much of a surprise...

Anyway, this coaster is a lot longer/bigger than I could have imagined. With this size and the current plot of land cleared in Camp Snoopy, it tells me the ride is going to make it's way over to the North end of Camp Snoopy and meander a bit into Fiesta Village.

Where's the "Screamscape isn't a reliable source, and they should be sued for releasing confidential information early!" crowd on this one?

I mean, seriously - it's no different from Maverick's details being leaked, but yet there were tons of pissed off people about that.

Was there as much hype surrounding the Knott's coaster?
Also, this is from Mack, not so well known from keeping secret plans, well, secret.
If anyone wants to get all hopped up about leaking the new camp snoopy coaster, be my guest.

Well, I'm sure there's someone out there who's getting all hopped up about it. :)

All I'm saying is that there's a lot of "selective hostility" toward Screamscape by certain park fans.

When it's an actual scan that does not look photoshopped...

...I'm sure even the most dis-believer will believe. Not to mention, it's not as if this is a mega-park staple-coaster.

...Screamscape's reliability only comes into question when there's mentions of a rumor with no truth or evidence (ie: links, photos, scans... etc) backed up behind it. Otherwise, Screamscape is a reliable site for most information & news.

Secondly, it's not a rumor or speculation. Someone took a photo of something being shown at an industry trade show. Kind of hard to be wrong about something being publically displayed.

Didn't Screamscape also *report* that SFNE was buying a FSS when the "Con-Quest-adorks" visited HP in the rain one day a few years' back? Wettest.Ride.Ever! (and the water was turned OFF, hehe)...

Not saying there's not some accurate information there, only that *everything* you read on the Internets needs to be consumed carefully... :)

Looks nifty. But you know me, I'd have rather seen a Jr. woodie. ;) Also, I'm sad to see Walter K and presumable the train go.

That thing is huge! I guess it's to accommodate the longer trains and the unique area that it's going into.

This happened with Spinning Dragons and Timberland Twister as well. Gerstlauer had a photo of the layout of the rides at IAAPA as well. *** Edited 11/21/2006 2:53:51 AM UTC by Swoosh***

I never said it was. I never said I cared that it "leaked", either. Just like with Maverick, it doesn't bother me.

I just think it's amusing, that's all.

I was there a few weeks ago, and the land that is cleared out does not look like you could fit a coaster of this size in it.

If you had really looked at that concept art closely, you would realize that about half of the coaster will be high-up off the ground going over pathways and other attractions. The plot of land cleared right now is for the main bulk of the ride...the loading platform/queue area, and final spirals that finish off the ride. A good portion of the coaster isn't being built in that plot of land that's cleared out right now in Camp Snoopy.

But...will it be ready for Solace? I hope so ;)
