On November 1 construction was halted, YES THEY REALLY DID START!, due to a dispute with the conduminium owners revolving around the use of heavy equipment and its effect on the bluff. (that's really a slope) Plus they were worried about noise. However, an agreement made on November 7 led to some changes and the continuation of construction on the service road and eventually the coaster. We now get a tunnel before the coaster goes under the street, and more coverings throughout the rest of the ride.
The constrcution of the service road right now is the first step in construction of the coaster itself. You have to get to the area before you can go in with heavy equipment.
I can't believe it they have actually moved dirt, and when I thought there was another long dispute I was scared. Fortunately, the layout of the coaster benefitted from this one. Can't wait until the actual coaster building starts! *** Edited 11/9/2006 3:18:05 AM UTC by AJFelice***
Given the original Ravine Flyer was a Miller/Baker...might be nice to get something along the lines of Zippin Pippin and/or AP's Legend...maybe with a GG flair... ;)
I have the image RGB is referring to as well, but I couldn't get it to upload last night. *** Edited 11/9/2006 11:00:41 PM UTC by Acoustic Viscosity***
