Great Adventure - 2007 Early Ride TIme For Seaon Pass Folks

The E-mail link metioned that next year, during June, July and August (Monday through Thursdays) 2 coasters will open for seaon pass people only an hour early (9 AM).

They are calling it "Extreme Coaster Mornings."

The list of coasters includes: Ka, El Toro, Medusa, Superman Ultimate FLight, Batman The Ride and Great American Scream Machine. (Again, you only get 2 though)

Yea but it sucks for those of us who work 9-5, ya know, normal regular jobs...that won't be available to take advantage of those perks. Now if they would do that on a few weekend days as well, that would be better. :)

They did this at Six Flags over Georgia during Spring Break week for Goliath. It's not as cool as it sounds, though. There are a lot of season pass holders out there. It's not nearly as exclusive as an enthusiast event or anything.

BigJim - As a full time teacher or a part-time camp counselor, it works out nicely for me. The only thing is...do I now hit the early coater rides first or do I get the Q-bot first?

By the way...I wonder how the "non-season pass peeps" are going to feel about having to watch the Looney Tunes "Preshow" while the Season-Passers are already riding coasters or in the que.

I'm sure there are a lot of season pass holders, but I doubt that hundreds of them are going to be there every day for 3 months getting early entry. We'll just have to determine which days are the best to take advantage of this perk.

What I'm wondering, is this "Rise & Scream" time only good for season passes purchased from SFGAdv, or will a pass from another park also get you in early.

As far as how the "non-season pass peeps" will feel, it will probably be like watching the "FastLane peeps" cutting in line. It will "encourage" them to upgrade their one day ticket to a season pass.

Does this mean they're going to have these rides open that early? On my visit this year, my friend called and we were specifically told that those rides, for the most part, were scheduled to open late. In fact, they DID open late. We stood in the line for the non-operating Kingda Ka, and noted none of those coasters were operating until well past the park's official opening time. Guest Relations told my friend that they take longer to inspect. I guess it never occurred to them to start the inspection process earlier in the morning.... Could the new GM have something to do with possible changes in operation?

KK is already on a 24 hour maintanence crew. How can they start the inspection earlier, if it already has maintanence guy there all the time.

That was exactly my first thought.

Maybe they just won't announce which rides are going to be open whatever day. That way if say, Superman isn't ready one day, they can just throw it over to Medusa.

Who knows.

So who is more likely to get to Great Adventure before 9 AM, Monday through Thursday during the months of June, July and August--

the family crowd that SF is "trying" to attract?

OR

the rowdy teenage crowd they are trying to look like they are not attracting?

It does suck for the 9 to 5 ers I must say.

^ Anything to make the families feel more important. Nothing wrong with that at all. Still gotta bring in the young though.

How has KK been running since mid summer. I have no ideo so could someone give me a brief breakdown.

They could hand out photocopies of the "Official Six Flags Code of Conduct" for everyone to study.

I put some thought into that bigjim and that really does suck. I'd be maor jealous that so many people are getting the open ride time. H-o-l-l-y.

As mentioned above, it's probably a lot like the Q-bot thing. Half the people will be really pissed and half the people will fork out the extra cash and buy a SP.

Teenagers aren't AWAKE before 9am... ;)

Then again, neither are parents with small kids....

I'm starting to think I may need to take advantage of this in '07...good thing that on these kinds of additional operating hours days, they NEVER seem to care what park your SP is from... :)

edit: of course, if none of the RIDES opens 'til after 10, it's just an extra hour to walk around the park...gotta love GAdv.. ;)

All I know is I was able to sleep a lot later before I had kids...

It used to. My kids are 5 & 8. After that long you become quite efficient at getting everyone out the door....not to mention they get more capable.

But when they were younger...yeah.

But hell, five years ago with a 3 year-old and a newborn...I'd have been at the gate an hour early just hoping some random stranger would take them from me so I could sleep on a bench somewhere in the park. ;)
