Thought you might like to tune in ... anything could happen, I get the feeling.

More info here on the HoliBlog: http://www.holidayworld.com/holiblog/2006/09/koch-and-colbert.html.

Thanks,

Paula

Wow... I give him credit for going on that show. It could get pretty silly.

Will Koch can get pretty silly, so we get the feeling it's a good match. :)

Any advice would be appreciated...

Wow! That's awesome! I love that show.

The best advise I can give is just to have a sense of humor on there and be willing to laugh at yourself. The people who end up looking dumb on that show are the ones that take themselves (and Colbert) too seriously.

Will should say something like... "During the making of The Voyage we took out numerous bear dens." That would get some Colbert street cred but probably have PETA at your door step. ;)

Paula - have Will produce an on-ride photo of Abe Lincoln on The Raven or something. But make sure it's a black-and-white photo.

Basically the only advice you would need to keep in mind for the Colbert Report is to have a sense of humor about it and basically not take anything Stephen says seriously. Also I agree, mentioning that some bear dens were destroyed would be pretty hilarious.

I second Olsor's idea.

Make up a story about how the park's mascot was supposed to be Holibear but Will changed his mind when he realized how dangerous bears are.

This is the second or third most awesome thing ever. Good luck, Will!

If Will Koch had any heart, he would go on the Howard Stern show.

Will *will* get put on the spot about some less-than-comfortable topics....COUNT on it. As the sun rises in the East, Stephen Colbert will always get at least one *speechless moment* during an interview.

"Advice"? Roll with it, laugh WITH Stephen, even turn the tables on him a bit. He appreciates wit as much as, if not more than, the next interviewer. (Washington DC, by definition, is not part of the United States...LOL!).

Stephen is absurd, and silly, and not nearly as conservative as he seems to believe he is...but it's all in good fun - All the truly serious barbs were used during the White House Coorespondents' Dinner... ;)

I can NOT wait, this is gonna be FUN.... :)

From the sound of that news article, I would guess this is probably going to be one of those "get to know your district" sketches as opposed to Will being a guest in the studio.

^^^

I saw Artie perform Saturday (9-7-06), and by the looks of it, he couldn't fit in the trains. :)

man, we picked a bad time to cancel cable, lol:) i have a buddy up in northern VA who watched Colbert, ill get him to record it on DVR, thats for sure!!! best of luck Will!!!!

p.s. just out of curiosity, why is Will going on the show? while i think its awesome, im suprised to see the owner of a small, albeit popular, theme park being invited on a huge show like Colber.

Name a Tub on the flying eagles after him. Knowing him he might go crazy and visit the tub ;). (he did specials on a zoo that named an baby eagle after him and Hungary which might name a bridge with his name in it) *** Edited 9/12/2006 12:49:29 AM UTC by Joe E.***

That is an awesome idea. Actually, you should just rename the ride "Stephen Colbert's Flying Eagles". The ideas of doing something with bears is good too assuming he gets a chance too. Grizzly bears are on his "on notice" list. I still think this is going to be questions about the area and Will may not get a chance to get off topic too much.

I don't think he is conservative at all. I think that's his schtick. If you look at everything he's done, I think it's pretty clear that he is a liberal guy. He is just playing on the likes of O'Reilly and Hanity.

I will definately be watching Wed. night. But I already have my Tivo set to record every new episode anyway.

Best of luck Will, be ready for everything and know that anything that you do say WILL be taken out of context.

Yeah is Good!
