HW's Will Koch to be on "The Colbert Report"

Two letdowns. Ouch. ;)

Seriously though, any idea on the next air date?

Tomorrow at 11:30. Dude, it is a daily show with the new show at 11:30 every night.
What a crock.

So...I go to Comedy Central, Colbert Report. Since it says what I already noticed, Ken Jennings was tonight's guest, I did a search for...Will Koch.

web stuff to Comedy Central website, then "searchterm =Will+Koch".

Serious.

Seems reasonable, right?

Check this (buyer beware, sense of humor required, no refunds, yadda yadda, a strange link though, it IS to an episode of South Park)...

Perhaps Will *taped* today for another night's episode? It's a thought...

Well my thought is that it was taped as an evergreen story that will be just as fresh tomorrow as it is today and some of the other segments tonight were a little more time sensitive (Ken Jennings' book will not always be new).
It's too bad Will's bit wasn't broadcast today. Paula did such a good job generating buzz for the show. I hope that The Colbert Report gives her and everyone else a fair warning as to when this will actually air.

When might they air it? I'm no expert, but here are some ideas.

  • November 19 (date of Gettysburg address)
  • February 12-16 (Lincoln's birthday / lead up to Presidents Day)
  • November 7 (election day)
There's a Holiblog entry about Mr. Koch not appearing on the show last night.

Oooh, Steven is "on notice". The tables have turned. Take that Mr. Talking Head...(oh, no, that's David Byrne).

Mr. Colbert, Indiana's "Fightin' Ninth" is coming after you...better have an answer! :)

I don't know if anyone noticed yesterday's 2nd Holiblog update, but they are still going to have Will's bit on The Colbert Report. They just don't know when yet.
They're coming to the park tomorrow to shoot footage...so this is turning into a bigger deal than originally planned.

^ Methinks Steven's been reading his fan mail... ;)

LOL! :)

Upon further reflection, he probably got scared when he was put "on notice"....beating him at his own game, pretty cloever move... ;)

"Cloever move," eh? If you're trying to be punny, you're still pretty green.

According to Comedy Central ... the piece is now slated to run tomorrow (Thursday) night at 10:30 pm CDT.

Thanks, Paula

^ Take a "mini-hibernation nap"...it's what the bears do... :)
Once the writers discover the throughline or "game" in the interview, they come back to gather more support footage, and vice versa. For example, if Colbert mocks Holidayworld for being politically incorrect in some way, he'll come back on another day to gather footage that supports that "game" and edit it in later.

My guess is that it's likely that the "games" will be one or more of these, lampooning the squeaky clean family park:

  • Holidayworld insensitively mocks the pilgrims' plight.
  • Holidayworld shuns Muslims
  • Holidayworld worships the devil with Halloween celebrations

You get the idea. That's my guess. Anyone want to place a wager?

I wrote a book on comedy called "Improvisation for Actors and Writers" on Amazon.com. Now watch, I'm completely wrong. >:(

BILL

Holiday World shuns Muslims?

LOL!!!

The premise is that Lincoln City (five miles away) is trying to horn in on the tourism that Holiday World draws to Santa Claus. (In a few years, it will be the bicentennial of Lincoln's birth and preparations are underway for celebrations.)

The crew never made it out of our Christmas section...so it's all about Santa. (Oh, and that guy Lincoln.)

Thanks, Paula
