A day at the park is what you make it!
Seriously though, anyone paying full price should know that there are discounts available. You can get tickets to Great America at Jewel food stores for $39. That's $20 off regular price.
This is also a good idea for other parks with overpriced food.

The problem is, in my mind anyway, that you are really getting no discounts at all with SF. We wanted so bad to go up to SFGAm this summer, and I searched every outlet you could imagine over about 2 months to find the best discounts, and there was nothing out there worth the trip to Gurnee.
Any discounts you could find were eliminated by the price increases for parking, admission, the already high food prices, and the main reason we cancelled three different trips this year, (SFGAm, Myrtle Beach, and Hersheypark)...gas prices! A lot of people I know say gas prices aren't that big a deal, but for us, they're a killer.
We ended up going to Michigan's Adventure & Cedar Point because we could save a ton of money by using our passes for CP, cashed in priority club points for our hotels, and watched our spending on extra attractions. We had a great time, and it didn't kill us to do it. I'd love to go to SFGAm someday, but I'm not paying out all of my hard-earned money for their past mistakes. I don't want to go that bad.
