How to save money at a SF Amusement Park!!!

I'd love to go to SFGAm someday, but I'm not paying out all of my hard-earned money for their past mistakes.

Great park. I've been there 100's of times but not this year or anytime soon because of what you're saying.

Why do I even bother. I contributed this link to the site in hopes some of you might find it a useful resource to save some some money on your next trip to SF and in the end, I get a bunch of smart ass remarks.

Haven't you learned by now?

There could be an area where Six Flags out shines all other parks on the planet, and just because it is Six Flags, certain folks won't give an ounce of credit.

I've found out this year and last that 1) Six Flags parks are a lot closer to "Average" than they are to "Terrible" than most are willing to admit and 2) many other parks are alot closer to "Average" than they are to "spectacular" as many are willing to admit.

"Yes... well... VICTORY IS MINE!"
My only big suggestions are to never pay for soda at a park, always go with the free glasses of ice water. $3 for a soda is unbelievable... Also eat outside of parks whenever it can easily be done.

*Currently a ride op/ attendant at Six FLags America in South West Territory.*
There are some parks where you might find it desirable to eat inside the park. Not all parks are like Six Flags regarding their food and drink pricing. Many of the small to mid-sized family owned parks have reasonable prices. Often the food quality is good in these parks as well.

Two parks, Holiday World and Lake Compounce, have free soft drinks. Both of these parks also have reasonable food prices.

^which can it be easily done for SFGam? Also, are they still doing a lot of work on the highway next to the park? I heard the traffic was very bad.

Finally does the park have any regular restraunts inside the park? I like PKI having Subway in the park, the prices aren't much higher than the average subway, and you get a full stomach on one sandwich.

One way to save money is by not going to a SF park.
Coasterguts,

It's nice of you to try and help people out here with your link. But the way many of us feel about SF, it's almost laughable or something.

It's nice to know how to save money getting into the parks, but when are they gonna tell us how to save money once we're here? Like that's gonna happen, especially when Shapiro wants the per cap spending to be up.

If SF comes up with some better ways to save money once we're IN the park, or if they start advocating leaving the park to save money, then let us know :)

Just buy a season pass and use the coupon book for you and your friends. ;)

Rablat...

I posted the link for the contingent of people that constantly ask where can I get the coupons for xx park. There you have it now. If you don't find the link useful. So be it. Move on. No need for smart ass remarks.

A day at the park is what you make it!

Ways to save *in* SF parks:
1) Buy a season pass and use the coupons
2) Buy a season pass and use the in park auto discounts (e.g. 5 bucks off Flash Pass w/ SP @ SFNE)
3) Show your AAA card and save (any enthusiast that doesnt have a AAA card is just throwing money away)
4) Apply for an SF-branded credit card
5) Ask for Ice water instead of bottled water/soda (pop)
6) Buy the souviener cups and take advantage of the lower cost refills
7) Split meals among 2 people (most American portions are too big to begin with anyway)

And that was just off the top of my head. To be honest, I've found that if there is something in particular that you want, just ask for it. You'd be *suprised* what people are willing to do for you.

I *said*: "Supersize me!".... :)

Another suggestion: If you are going alone or with one other person, consider going in the same car with someone else. Not only will you save on outrageously priced Six Flags parking but also on even more outrageously priced Exxon - Chevron - Shell - BP - Mobil - Sunoco - Texaco - Phillips - Conoco - etc. gas.

I haven't seen a Six Flags meal that included large portions. If anything the portions seem much smaller than what they are worth.

Of course this excludes the buffets at the events. ;)

^ Tina, have you been to SFGAdv? Those portions are usually pretty big--at least the meals at Best of the West and Granny's.

I also got a meal at SFMW this year which was pretty big.

I think SF tends to be a step above the Paramount Parks in terms of food; in terms of operations, it's a step below.

first coasterqueenTRN: Have you been to SFNE. If you get a burger combo you get 1/3 pound burger and fries. For me its enough to feed 3 people.

Anyways on to the discussion:
1. If you buy one six flags pass, it's good at any six flags. Right there, its an awsome deal and six flags deserves major credit for that.( I know there not the only ones but we are talking about SF)

2. Small parks cost alot! of dough too!. I went to Lake Compounce, $32 to get in(but I had a coupon) $5 to park(on gravel!!), but food was a bit more reasonable. All for a feww good flats and 2 good coasters. Ok, so you can talk about the free soda, but its soda. Not good for you. I drink like 2 or 3 cups and I dont want to be drinking anymore pop. I bring juice to parks and leave it in a cooler in my car.

3. I'm going to SFKK and BB in 2 weeks. I bet I spend more at BB then SFKK because I have a six flags pass. I'm going to pay to park at SFKK and thats it. No food, no ticket, no anything. $10 to ride 7 or 8 coasters. Beach Bends admission is more then $10. Plus parking and what not. I'll be riding half as many coasters.

But I will 10000% agree Six flags is the worst for pricing. $15 to park at SFNE. I almost sh!t my pants when I seen the sign. And this flash pass junk takes the cake(not that you have to buy it).

If your talking about visiting 1 park for the whole summer then my arguments are pointless. I'm thinking more so for enthusiasts then the GP.

How to save money at a six flags park?........(ponder)......

Answer......Dont go.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

^^crazy horse: not only is your post silly and pointless, it's also incredibly redundant as matt. posted the same thing FIVE DAYS AGO!

If you're planning to be a butt-nugget, as least do us the courtesy of being original.
