18 Year Old Cedar Point Reservations?

I was wondering if anyone knew of any hotels in the Cedar Point area that allow 18 year olds to stay un-supervised. After planning a whole trip there in June with my friend, I realized that I couldn't even get a room reservation!

If anyone has any way around this, or a hotel that allows this, it would be very helpful.

If I could make a suggestion: I was in the same boat as you last summer, I wanted a cheap place as close to the park as possible that would rent to 18 year olds. Ended up at the Howard Johnson, which is RIGHT across the street from the main causeway entrance(and I mean that literally).

Sure its not a 5 star hotel, but its not any worse than most for the money, and you wont be able to beat the location.

Dusk to Dawn Motel

Isn't Dusk to Dawn closed?

All that was left of the Dusk To Dawn that was on route 250 was the sign. We saw this when we went to Great Wolf in February.

Here you go....What I done was get your parents to set the reservation and have them tell the hotel that your going to stay there. What they will need is a release statement saying your parents will be held responsible for any damages or charges that happen while your in the room. I did this from when I was 18 till I was 21. The only hotels I got to agree to this were Comfort Suites, Hampton Inn, and Fairfield. I'm not promising this will work for you, but it did about 9 times in 5 different cities.

I reccomend the Best Western Cedar Point Area. I stayed there once when I was 19 and unless they changed the policy, you should be able to stay there without parents. It was a decent hotel and it wasn't too expensive, plus it is pretty close to the park.

We are flying into Cleveland seeing that it is a very long drive from where I live, so how would I get to the park each day if I stayed off site, do some of the hotels have trams? is there a bus system for the area? I'm thinking about just letting my crazy Uncle come stay in the room with us so we can stay at Breakers again like last year since the early access and location are amazing.

RllrCoastrCrazy - I know I'll get slammed for this and some will say I'm being mean to you but many of your questions can be answered if you'd just spend a few minutes searching the internet.

For the life of me I don't remember ever seeing a shuttle bus from a hotel to CP parked outside the gate. I could be wrong on this, but then I always drove. A quick look at some of the hotels at Sandusky.com and I didn't see any shuttle bus offerings. The Holiday Inn Express has a car rental desk! Renting a car may be your best bet, or you can check http://sanduskytransit.com/ for a bus trip, but it's not your typical bus line from what I just read.

Well Moosh I don't think you're being mean. I actually have looked a long time on this, but sometimes you guys know stuff that I can't find elsewhere, such as that list of hotels that I completely missed in my search.

I'm basically hoping that some regulars might have some tips or have been in the same crappy situation that I'm in right now. So far the thread has been helpful.

Most hotels in the Sandusky area will take 18 year old reservations no problem. Car rental on the other hand is very select, the only place I know is a company in LA and San Diego that takes under 21 drivers. Hertz will do so in Michigan and New York (for an extra fee).

Actually Enterprise Rent-a-Car willrent to people under the age of 18 only under certain criteria. Technically 21. In order for this to happen wreck your car and have a rental is the simple way for it to happen.
I guess before I get jumped for this post. I should give some follow-up resources. This is a company I worked for a little bit. It will take some work and it depends on the city and area managers if they allow them in your area. Mine did, it has to have management approval and yes you can reserve on the internet.
