Six Flags New Parking Policy

So I went to SFGADV last night (Friday) bought my parking pass for $30. It's a sticker that has to be stuck to your back Window. So I go back today in my wifes car an I didn't stick the sticker on her car just kept it in the center console. I asked the parking guy can I buy a second one at a lower rate an he said no I'd have to buy it for $30. I was like I have 2 cars an use both to come here. He said as of right now its a chain wide policy that each pass is $30. I know before I could pay $25 for my first one an get a second one for $10. Does anyone find this outrageous an down right wrong? I plan on emailing SF an asking why they don't do that anymore.

Thanks,
DMC

As much as I complain about cash grabbing by amusement parks, this seems pretty standard to me. Does any other park offer a discount on a second parking pass?

They did in years past. I used to do it. But even then they had the removable one from the rear view mirror so you could use it between cars.

SFGAm has always just had a sticker that you stick on your season pass so it's portable, so to speak.

I wonder if they're switching to a vehicle sticker this year rather than the small sticker we used to just put on our season passes.

The pricing is certainly different this season. One pass is $60, two passes are $80, three passes are $95, and four passes are $100. *** Edited 4/1/2006 9:11:12 PM UTC by Brad G***

That's not a horrible price for a parking pass either (especially if it's a $9+ daily rate).

Park rate is $15 ref Preferred is $20. They used to have the tags I wish they still did. Even the sticker on the pass would work.

They should tack on an extra $5 to every seaosn pass (or raise it even more--still a steal) and let you park for free with a season pass like Adventureland does. It's a great deal.

At Cedar Point, I pay an extra $15 for the option of putting the parking pass on the season pass rather than putting it in the window of the car.

Shoot, even USF/IoA lets me park for free...and they do NOT have to do that...

BGT also lets me park free, but I buy the 2-year pass...the regular "buy one day get the rest of the year free *tin* passport" doesn't come with free parking....or any of the other benefits like discounts on food and merchandise...

Adventure Parks has an upgrade option that includes free parking, but then you're looking at a $100 annual pass price, considerably more than I pay for either of the other two (major!) parks...

How is that possible? It says right on the back of the sticker, that in order for the pass to be valid, it has to be affixed to the passenger window, on the drivers side.

Mind you, I'll never actually put the sticker on my window, since I have 2 cars myself, and one of them is a convertible(NO passenger windows).

SFA it's $40 for one and $50 for two, but you can'y buy the first one by itself and come back and get the second one at a later date for $10 more, it's an all at once or nothing deal.

If you can't stand the heights, get out of the line.

At BGW and WCUSA any pass above the "bronze" gets you free parking, its a great perk.

Well, at least last year the parking pass at SFA could be transferrable between cars since it stuck by static (?) instead of with the superglue of the old passes. Even with Goo-gone and a scraper, it was very hard to get the old stickers off. Last year I could just peel it off easily and that was after being in the car for the whole season.

I believe the SFA parking pass is still the static cling variety.

A day at the park is what you make it!

I think all parking passes should be ON the actual season pass. It's much easier. Stickers can get cumbersome and annoying.

I had A Paramount Parks Gold Season Pass in 2004 from PKI. The Parking Pass was printed on the Pass. I like that system.

I bought A SFKK 2005 Season Pass without A Parking Pass. It would be nice if they would offer A Universal SF Parking Pass, good at all of their properties.

I don't understand why Parks don't offer A multi-year season pass. Imagine being able to buy A pass that is good through the 2008 or 20010 season. I would buy one, even without A discount. Considering that debt reduction is Six Flag's primary concern, this may be an idea that they would or have considered. I thought about creating A new thread for this topic. I really don't want to pull this thread off topic, so if this is something you would like to discuss, please, open A thread for it. Thank You.

Blackie if they wanted to cut down on the debt they would not offer multi year season passes, they would instead discontinue season pass sales. We the season passers tend to go enough times that our cost per trip is <$10 and on top of that we also tend to be cheap and not buy anything else while at the park (especially Six Flags where the food is terrible.) So in the end the season passer is a drain on the park and if they really want to get serious they would get rid of it, even if it would result in less people at the park it would likely increase the number of people paying the $50+ fee to enter.

I think it's ridiculous to need to pay for a parking pass when you have a season pass. I know Dorney Park's pass includes the free parking, don't all Cedar Fair parks work that way too???

I know someone else mentioned the parking pass for CP though? That sounds weird, I always thought CF included parking with your season pass.

I know Six Flags is just crooks, so it doesn't surprise me there.

I always buy a SFOG season parking pass (which says to attach to windshield also) and NEVER attach it to my windshield. As I drive in, I lay it on my dash board and in 15 years have never been denied parking.
