Roller coasters & amusement parks in movies

I'm surprised no one has mentioned these 2:

Brady Bunch at PKI

Iron Wolf at Six Flags Great America was used in Richie Rich.

Trip on this totally psychedelic B grade "midnight movie" from 1970 called "Musical Mutiny". Filmed at Pirate's World in Dania Beach, Florida, it chronicles teens taking over the park, culminating with The Iron Butterfly performing an insanely long version of "Inagaddadavida" (it's ok to hit the FF button here). It has scenes of Pirate's World with the Wild Mouse coaster, the Steeplechase Ride (rumored to be the original one from Coney Island), a trabant, swinging bridge, sky ride, a band performing on the carousel as it operates, a primitive looking circular swing ride with chair lift like carriages, the log flume, and what appears to be a sky hook type ride like SFOG had (maybe the same one?). Far out. Dig!

I also remember Full House being at SFMM. However, they edited the fly over and converted the parking lot by Colossus into the ocean. Odd.

No one mentioned the 1990 Mel Gibson flick, Bird on A Wire. There is a flashback scene where his character and Goldie Hawn's are at an amusement park (Playland) and zooming down the first drop on a Jet Star 2 coaster. The coaster was called the Super Big Gulp and no longer operates at Playland in Vancouver, BC.

Death at Ocean View was a horrid little movie but like what was mentioned earlier had some good scenes with the Rocket coaster that was in the 1977 movie Rollercoaster. I saw it on TV late one night and was able to tape most of it.

There is also a roller coaster scene in Godzilla vs Space Godzilla. He almost steps on the wooden coaster, Jupiter, located at Kijima Amusement Park in Beppu, Oita Japan. It shows people waiting in line while the train is running the course. They see Godzilla coming and quickly leave the queue.

^Lisa, that reminded me of another Godzilla movie. The 1971 "Godzilla vs. The Smog Monster".

There's an incredible clip of a kid riding one of those infamous flat rail steel coasters that were (and still are) common in Japan.

It was a great scene with lots of POV footage. I've seen quite a few real photos of that style coaster but I have no clue as to which one it is and if it is still in operation.

Anyone know?

The roller coaster sene was crazzy! I was also wondering if that is even a real coaster. There were coaster cars flying everywhere and the restraints unlocked during the ride.

It was amazing but also horrifying and scarry.

I was wondering the same thing Ken. I saw that movie a few weeks ago Godzilla vs Hedorah (Smog Monster) and yeah it has a fair amount of on-ride footage. It's a bit shaky but fun to watch.

There's also yet another Godzilla movie (from the 90's) with Godzilla approaching a park that has one of those flat rail steel coasters that is red. It looks like it may be a Jet Coaster somewhere in Japan. I think the movie was called Godzilla vs MechaGodzilla II.

Can anyone tell me what park "Little Big League" is filmed in? There's a part somewhere in the middle of the movie, I think... that I remember an amusement park it was filmed in. It's been awhile since I saw the film, but I remember when I watched it, I thought it was Cedar Point based upon the layout of the shoot-the-chutes (and how the bridge & everything looked identical) & a corkscrew coaster that I think went over the midway...

...but then I remembered that the movie took place in Minnesota... so I wonder if it's actually Six Flags St. Louis, or if (as with most parks) it was filmed at some other park.
