I can't tell what it was, even if it is real
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

In addition, although no coasters or rides are running, parts at the beginning of Spy Kids 2 were filmed at SFoT. You can see parts of Titan, Batman, and Flashback, plus a few others that I can't remember. *** Edited 1/19/2006 2:03:17 PM UTC by Ben Nelson***
Schwarzkopf shuttle loops...The most possible fun in 36 seconds.
Certain victory.
There's the new Final Destination 3 that I don't know if it has been released yet.
For some reason I thought riding the bullet was at Playland in Vancouver. I could be wrong.
I know the newer roller coaster movie from '99 where the 5 kids break into a defunct park so 2 of them can kill themselves was filmed at playland in Vancouver.
My band "The Cedar Kings". "Ordinary Day" a trip report in song.

I used this list to see as many of the movies as I could some years back. I even made an edited video of about 10 movie coaster clips back to back. I need to dig that up!!
If you are in to the history of defunct coasters like me, then the movies with the "longest" coaster clip/segments are:
1)Strike Me Pink (1936) - great slapstick movie with excellent Cyclone Racer footage and POV shots. The scene last for at least 15 minutes.
2)Death Of Ocean View Park (1979)- Extensive, Great footage on & off the ride. This is the movie where they actually blew up the coaster. The coaster was to be demolished by the city anyway, but Hollywood stepped in to do it for them. Excellent flick for seeing the old Rocket in action.
3)Abbott & Costello Goes To Hollywood (1945)- Another comedy with extensive Cyclone Racer footage and special effects. I can watch this one over & over.
4)Fresh Horses (1989) - A great scene of a guy walking the track of the Screechin' Eagle (LeSourdsville Lake). Also, a scene of King's Island Winterfest.
5)The Clones (1973) - A 20 minute shootout between a man riding in the coaster train and a man on the ground as the train does continuous loops through the circuit. The coaster is the Big Dipper, a small woodie at the L.A. County Fairgrounds, also went by the name of Frazier Park. This is a cool looking little woodie with a nice swoop turn. Great POV and aerials of the shootout.
6)Fish Hooky - Little Rascals (1931)- POV of Some Kick coaster on Venice Pier. This was an incredible coaster built all the way out at the end of a pier. Only footage in existance of this coaster.
7)Maids Night Out (1938)- Sea Serpent footage from the Pacific Ocean Park.
8)Hold On!(1956)- More extensive Sea Serpent footage. Funny special effects.
Anyone seen the split second Crystal Beach Cyclone footage on "The Atomic Cafe" movie (1952). It's worth a look. *** Edited 1/20/2006 3:04:00 AM UTC by swampfoxer*** *** Edited 1/20/2006 3:14:17 AM UTC by swampfoxer***
The Final Destination 3 coaster is a super themed up corkscrew at the PNE as well. They made the station have some sort of mideval theme so it looks more like an IOA or Disney ride from the pictures I saw.
With all the filming up in Vancouver going on, those PNE coasters will be getting a lot of exposure since they're really the only coasters in the area. I'm suprised there aren't more PCW coasters in films since it's near Toronto with all the filming that goes on there.
I'm not positive but I'm pretty sure the coaster in The Dead Zone is the old Comet when it was in Crystal Beach.
Coaster, couldn't get ENOUGH airtime for all its airtime... :)
Santa Monica Westcoaster is probably the one that gets the most *pictured*...not that it deserves it.. ;)
