Ahh yes I totally missed the fact that XLR8 was question marked,however given that ride's age I doubt it'll be going anywhere but the scrapyard.

Skuller:SFNE is the acronym for six flags new england,now there's a good reason for astroway to get scrapped as sky rides these days are a pain to maintain...just look what happened to PKD's skyride a decade or so ago.

XLR8 is huge and was built in 1984. The sheer size of this ride makes me question relocation, but it's not in bad shape. Slap some of those newer Vekoma rolling stock where your legs dangle and maybe you've got something.

I waited in line for an hour and a half for one last ride on Ultra-Twister, guess it wasn't in vain.

I jumped the gun on that one, seems Astroway may be going to a Six Flags park after all. Possible La Ronde.

Whether it does or doesn't, on the bright side it appears the State Fair of Texas intends to build a new skyway next year.

La Ronde? Nah... La Ronde finally removed the supports and one of the 2 station. They had a Von Roll skyway that closed in 1995 and the city of Montreal let it rot. SF looked at getting it rehabbed, but the cost was just too prohibitive and they finally removed everything except the one station that also has the first aid station and employees things.

After SF went through the problems of removing the remnants of the old one, I don't think they would rebuild one. *** Edited 11/7/2005 6:43:54 PM UTC by Absimilliard***

If they are moving the Taxis to Splashtown, why can't they move one of the smaller coasters like Greezed Lightning to the park as well? That way one of the more popular coasters stays in the area and it's like a small part of Astroworld is preserved in the Houston area.

Well I think it's more about getting the money the rides may fetch on the used market which is why hardly anything seems to be going to other parks in the chain coasterwise.

However if no buyer can be found for agiven ride it'll go the way of shockwave instead when SF should just ship it to a park that's been overlooked coasterwise for a few years,SFA,SFDL,SFFT & SFSTL come to mind.

This all goes back to the original arguments that people were making about the rides at Astroworld, and their marketing potential at other Six Flags properties. I'm not terribly shocked. Remember that many of these rides had already made two trips before landing at Astroworld.

We would be proud to have Greezed Lightnin at SFNO..Great fit for the park. SFAW former patrons could travel to us for a reason to ride a old friend..I doubt that our management has even considered grabbing any rides from SFAW..Have our rides are now ruined and one would have to think , If and a big if the park resumes operations that a few rides with minimal moving expense would be moved to SFNO..But like I have said in the past our management team runs assbackwards and are probably trying to move our rides to SFAW thinking the park is still operating.. Can we put in a vote for the management team at SFAW to swap parks..After all is said and done I have seen the difference it is hard to deny the teams are nowhere near being even ..My vote is for Chuck and George..

Better focus on just getting the park (SFNO) back open first before making any wish lists.

I'm curious about the Mayan Mindbender sale as well.

That would not be a sale, Splash Town is owned by SF's.
