Next Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are the last days of Astroworld.

I'm not clear about what exactly is happening with the park. Are they selling it? Leveling it? Let it just kinda sit there?

I wonder if the GP even knows that there park is gunna go bye-bye.

The land the park sits on is going to be sold to real estate developers, meaning all the park's current assetts (rides/buildings) will be removed or relocated elsewhere when the park finally closes its gates on the 30th.

GP knows. I was there yesterday.

Plots of land in this local don't sit long. I wish they decided to re-locate most of the park elsewhere.

I really don't understand why they told the people about the park closeing 45 days before it closeses, i think astroworld needs 1 more season before closeing so people can go another year with out it being so crowed

The land is for sale. Demolition will begin the day after halloween. The water park is already in the process of being dismantled. Some rides will begin moving immediately. Some will put into storage and placed up for sale. Some will be bulldozed.

The Texas Cyclone is for sure to be bulldozed :( their is no chance in hell that the Texas Cyclone is going to be rebuild somewhere else, and that go's for XLR8 and the mindbender too.

It's also been more crowded this past weekend than I can remember seeing the park in a long time.

It was my dream for my band to play at astroworld in the amphitheatre, it was our goal in our band but it is now a thing in the past, so now our new goal is to play at fiesta texas.

That article is really sad and puts it all into perspective. Oh well, not much we can do about it now. I would encourage the Texas people to go enjoy the park one last time (for me) this coming weekend.

I wonder where all of the rides will end up.

Look for a TR soon, but due to insane lines I was only able to get on 7 of the 9 coasters :(

I only got one ride on Ultra-Twister, *sigh*, that was one hell of an experience! You will be missed AstroWorld, ever pain-peeling-left-over-from-other-Six-Flags-parks-and-covered-in-gum piece!

Are we absolutely for certain that Texas Cyclone is going to be defunct soon? Has that been stated yet?

It's not the kind of thing they officially announce, but all my park sources indicate they're saving the trains and control system - nothing else.

I'm guessing they'll end up as parts for Colosuss.
