My thoughts are this....the coasters should be divided up among the SF parks that have not recieved a coaster in a while like SFFT, SFA, SFDL, and some of the other SF properties like Frontier City and Great Escape and Enchanted Village. But in reality they had 10 coasters and a bunch of flat rides, some of which are very old and probably would be better off in the scrap heap than in a park, but most place could get some use out of most of them.
The only logical thing I could think of would be to send the Serial Thriller (SLC) to SFFT as they don't have an inverted coaster yet and it's not that far to transport it there, so costs would be lower.
Any other ideas??
Now the only question is will they have enough time to dismantle the rides & send them off to the other locations before the 06 season begins? I actually doubt because look at how long it took viper from SFOG for example to find a new home at SFKK.
That ride was dismantled at the end of 01 & sat at SFOG until the end of 02 before being shipped off to SFKK where it opened in time for the 03 season.
plus some misc. kiddie circle rides
that's it. The scrambler and trabant are as old as the park itself (1968) and the gunslinger's not much younger. I would predict the looping starship hits the junk pile as well.
Any of SFAW's rides will not be going to SFGRADV,SFMM or SFOG as those parks have already made...& are in the early stages of following through on their 06 cap ex projects....I did see that SFA's season passes for 06 are going up to $80 (full price via the FF email I recieved)for 06 so they better plan on a major attraction to justify that rediculous price increase.
