Where are the rides from Astroworld going??

My seven year old daughter has a favorite song. It goes like this:

This is the song that never ends,
yes it goes on and on my friend.
Some people started singing it,
not knowing what it was,
and they'll continue singing it forever just because
this is the song that never ends...

I'm not sure what that has to do with this discussion, but I bet you can figure it out.

Why not send SWAT to GADV as part of the new area? Maybe it was in the cap ex plan? Maybe the closing of SFAW was thought about as a posibility and they did some preplaning in case said action was taken. Oh wait SFI does think do they.

This is not to bash SFA in any way my past 2 season passes were from SFA but next year I went for the GAdv pass since it was available now and it is my home park. I was thinking I may not be going to SFA next season. I want to hit other parks in the chain. GAm and NE are in my tenative plans. Now that is subject to change with announcements of installations for SF parks.

Watch the tram car please....
I heard that SF is going to send Batwing to SFGAdv. It seems a bit strange since they already have a flyer, but they don't have a Vekoma flyer yet, and well, it is GADV, so I guess it's a good move.

....I did see that SFA's season passes for 06 are going up to $80 (full price via the FF email I recieved)for 06 so they better plan on a major attraction to justify that rediculous price increase.

Is that price for the premium pass? 2006 season passes are listed as $49.99 (plus taxes)on their website. http://www.sixflags.com/parks/america/TicketInfo/seasonpasses.html

No that's the price after the discount ends....look at it yourself & see that it says "savings of $30 off the full price".

I was rather suprised to see that when I looked at the email newsletter I recieved from SFA this morning...if SFGRADV gets Swat big deal, just saying that they don't need it when their cap ex plans were already determined long before SFI ever even considered closing SFAW.

SFGADV.....BZZZZZ.....Guess again!
Batwing Fan, SFA's season pass reached a maximum price of $79.99 in 2005 as well. However, that price was the price that you would pay if you bought it at the park, during the last few weeks of opperation. Throughout the year, you could ALWAYS get a discount at Safeway or by just getting it online. The park also had the same $30 discount when you bought it before Jan 1, they had about a $20 discount when you bought it before the first day of daily opperations, and it stayed at about a $10 discount until about when HH closed, but like I said, that was always the park you paid at the park. The online discount and Safeway discounts were always significantly more.

So, simply, SFA Season Pass cost JUST as much (both at the current discount compared to the discount at the same time last year and the full price this year compared to the full price last year) as it did last year, so don't start getting your hopes up yet.

If you can't stand the heights, get out of the line.

I'm kind of sick of this. Why is the coaster enthusiast community more concerned about where the rides are going to than protesting or showing disgust for the brutal annihilation of a fairly old park. My two cents. If this park were located in the Northeast there would be a much, MUCH different story. You all are making me really sick. There's plenty of time to speculate where rides go once Six Flags drives the stake through the park's heart, but can we not focus on everything that's important BEFORE that happens?

Well, the park is only around 30 years old (give or take a decade), and the decision was made (apparently in June) and there's no way to change it.. so rather than getting worked up about something we cannot change, we're accepting it, moving on, and having generally happier more fulfilled lives because we're not developing stress-based physiological conditions (did I get enough big words in there? ;) )

Well I can't help but feel that it's just disrespectful to park fans and employees that everyone here is treating all the components of their park like some sort of ride draft..!

"Pick my park, pick my park! SFA needs the rides soooo bad, I choose... mmmm that one!"

Actually, a draft would be funny. I like that idea. It's also something that Dan Snyder can understand.

I know many people know about SF Wyandot Lake, (Columbus, OH) while others may not. It's a waterpark/kiddie park. Most of the rides are geared toward the 12 & under set, (even their classic woodie). This park could really use a coaster or two...so how about sending Mayan Minebender and Serpent our way. It would really add to the park. They could even keep the theming as is to play off the Columbus Zoo, (whom they share the parking lot with).

Heck! If not the coasters, see if there's any kiddie flats they would part with. They have as much land invested in the picnic grove there, as PKI does in there's. I've never seen it really used much yet, why not put it to good use. *** Edited 10/8/2005 2:32:20 AM UTC by Floorless Fan***

How about sinding the Ultra Twister to SFMM? thay would do good with a ride like that :) it seems like a fun ride my only problem with it is that togo made it and less than 100m from SFMM was Knotts remeber the dreded windjammer?

..see if there's any kiddie flats they would part with.

I believe the bulk of kiddie rides were 'said' to be going to SFGAdv. Something about just transferring the license from SFAW to there and moving the kids rides there, since they're adding a whole nother new kids area.

I say send the Schwarzkopf's to parks near me. You could put Greezed Lightnin over at SFStL and Viper would fit nicely at SFKK. Other than that I'd love to see XLR-8 saved albeit with new Vekoma floorless trains and Ultra-Twister. If the Texas Cyclone is saved I say scrap the Morgans and get a real train.

Yeah, lets take Jason Campbell in the 1st round with the 25th pick. He realllly understands the draft.

I didn't say he was good at it. I said he understood the concept. ;)

Serpent wont be going anywhere probably. It's a little terrain specific Arrow mine train from 1969. I highly doubt it could be disassembled intact (see Dexter Freebish/Excalibur which wasnt even terrain based).

Mayan Mindbender I can see moving again though.

I'd say moving Greezed Lightnin' to SFSTL would be pretty redundant considering it really doesn't have anything Mr. Freeze doesn't.
