I'm curious if it is open to non-ACE members. The ACE website doesn't specify so I assume anyone can go but I'd like to make sure.

Thanks.

Since it is a fundraising event, it is open to anyone. But, I strongly suggest that you pre-register to guarantee a meal.

I planned on spending money there last weekend but they weren't open! I had to give my money to Delgrosso's instead.

If you have never been, you should definately make an effort to attend this event. Make sure to bring your camera, as you will be able to get some pictures that are not possible at any other time.

The meal is a very nice sit-down meal, and the ERT is very exclusive.

Not a bad way to spend one's cash though, millrace. Were you at the Italian foodfest?

Actually, it will be very difficult to 'spend money' at Ridefest since the park is actually closed. Only Leap-the-Dips, Skyliner, Toboggan, Lil' Leaper, and Twister will be open, as well as free mini golf. About the only place to spend money there that day would be in the Arcade. *** Edited 9/23/2005 11:21:58 PM UTC by Brother Dave***

The arcade sucks (I just say that because they have an imposter DDR....lol.) ;-)

My friends and I will be there, I am not sure whether we are going to pre-register or not.

I HOPE the Toboggan is open, it's the only credit I need there and I have YET to ride one of those. The last time I was at Lakemont it was closed. The one at Conneaut was closed.

Looking forward to the event!

Bear: I was there on Italin FoodFest day but I didn't really partake in any festivities. I happened to be in the Altoona area for other reasons and thought I would make a quick stop to check out the new spinning mouse. I had no idea that it was a special day until I saw the massive crowds and the excellent $10 per carload POP deal. Too bad I didn't really get my money's worth out of that since I didn't have time to ride much - especially with the crowds.

Delgrosso's is a great park though. And they really deserve an award for amusement park food. Cheap and well above average.

I'll drop a few coins in the Lakemont Arcade. I need some skee ball tickets for my collection (is that a lame collection or what?)

I'm glad they had a big crowd. DelGrosso's really is a nice little park, although I wouldn't mind it begin a nice little bit bigger park. And I was a big fan of their sauce before I ever knew they ran an amusement park.

I was sort of spoiled by my brief visit to Lakemont. I didn't get to ride LTD, but then again, I only spent 2 bucks to get in. I don't know if I'd want to spend 13 just for an out and back day trip. I'm thinking I'll just wait till next year, especially since it's the day after PPP.

^It's not a lame collection at all, Millrace. I LOVE collecting things such as skeeball tickets and tokens with the park's name on them.

Hell, I just love skeeball. :-)

As far as Del Grosso's, I haven't had anything other than their pizza, which was pretty good (and very cheap...$1.35-ish a slice or something like that.)

Back to Lakemont.....

I am looking forward to my first Toboggan ride, although I am also sort of nervous since I am HIGHLY claustrophobic.

It's all good. ;-)

Lakemont doesn't actually have "SkeeBall" machines. They have those crappy IceBall machines with the crappy clear balls. They are also very short lanes.

That was probably my only dissapointment from last year.

My guess would be that the Toboggan will be operating, but you might not want to show up late or you could miss it. RideFest will typically only have a couple of ops working and they will rotate around the park with the group. I believe the schedule is on the flyer.

I can't wait for RideFest! Three events in three days. I am gonna be one tired Diva! It'll be worth meeting a lot of new people.

Katie, 2 weeks 'til PPP!

Tina: do you save the POP wristbands too? :)

As long as the machines spit out a ticket with the park's logo on them, I'm happy. I hate those dang generic tickets some places use (cough *Kings Island* cough).

Those freaky fake skee ball variations do suck but they've got to be better then these.

I just hate any skeeball machine where you have to average about 58 points a ball to win even the dinkiest prize.

Millrace, I did save my Lakemont wristband. ;-) If the park's name is on it chances are I will save it.

I will play skeeball whether it's spits out tickets with the park's name on them or not, but I prefer *original* tickets. Six Flags usually has the same tickets.

The best skeeball in the world (besides CP) is at the Jersey shore....Morey's or one of those damn piers. I need to get back out there sometime. :-P

Seabreeze had some nice skeeball as well. I like the older machines, with the green, dirty carpet. Awesome!

I found some great vintage skee-ball machines in an arcade on the boardwalk at Ocean City, MD. They had those old rotating drums for the score and were in *perfect* condition.

I have two Wyandot Lake skee ball tickets and I'm glad I saved them as they switched to generic Six Flags tickets.

And interestingly, Geauga Lake under Cedar Fair control has the same tickets as it did under Six Flags control. They say Cleveland.com. I wonder if they will change once the current stock runs out.

Bear: True, some machines are really stingy, that's why I started collecting the tickets. The tickets are more interesting to me than any of the prizes I was capable of winning!

Must be a shore thing. The only place I know of that still operates those *really* old Skeeball machines is the Olympic Casino arcade on the boardwalk in Wildwood. I love those old machines, they're much better than the newer ones, especially the newer ones with light plastic balls and extra holes that are worth 10,000,000 points!
