Who would buy Mr Hydes over Demond Drop?

I noticed that both mr hydes and demond drop are being sold for 250000...the question is why would someone pay the same amount of MH that they would for DD which is in better shape?

Hydes has some history behind it. So maybe Demon Drop would go because its accident free?

I thought Mr. Hyde was not running much anymore, why would anyone want a problematic ride. If a big chain like CF dosn't want to keep up with maintaining the ride how is a small park?

When I read the title, I thought it was about a bad drug deal...but I was a little off

Mr. H will more than likely leave the country, if it is indeed sold at all. To say that it's history has been "problematic" is polite. Frankly, it's more likely to wind up as scrap.

What it looks like is that CF is in much more of a hurry to get rid of Demon Drop than Mr. Hyde's.

Perhaps a park that wants a Freefall and finds Demon Drop already sold? And what's to say that those rides will sell for their asking price?

Sorry, but not keeping up on the history of rides in the Buckeye State, I am probably the last person on here who doesn't know what the accident on Mr.Hyde was, although I heard about it.

Care to refresh my memory (as well as the memory of anyone else reading this thread)? Anyone... Anyone?

Mr. Hydes was called the Edge at SFGAM. When of the cars was being lifted to the top and the cable snapped and the car plunged to the ground. All on board escape with minor injuries I believe. The ride was then retorfited with anti roll back thing to prevent it from happen again. The kids on the ride when it happen had on shirts that said I went over the Edge and survied.

Who would want to buy Mr. Hydes?

Mr. Hydes was working last week, though sporatically. It seemed fine up until the transfer to the lower track, when our heads were violently jolted. That was my first ride on MH, and I seem to recall Demon Drop being a bit smoother when transferring.

My guess is that CF will make very little, if any, money on the sale of these rides. I bet $250,000 is the cost to take them down. and box them up into containers.

My prediction: CF announces BOGO offer, sells DD at asking price and gives buyer Hydes free ;)

The only sense on paper is for Six Flags to buy them. Demon Drop would be rebuilt at another park, and Mr Hyde's components would be divided up among, let's see Great Adventure, I think Magic Mountian has one, where ever else.

Not a brain buster here. Mr Hyde is in good shape, it just wasn't maintained like Demon Drop. I am sure if Cliff's Park for example offered $350,000 for both, and did just that, assemble one and 'inventory parts' one, they would take it.

If there were more duplicate rides at Cedar Point and Geauga Lake, then more would be sold. The beauty of the 2 parks is that now Ohio guests have about 120 rides to choose so close buy.
