Gator - my sources tell me floorless. I'd prefer an inverted as well. I guess we'll see who's right soon enough.

I agree that an invert is higher up on the food chain, so to speak, but there is an invert over at SFStL. Where is the nearest floorless?

To KCMO? Dominator @ Geuaga Lake is the closest floorless. Meanwhile there are a half-dozen inverted [B&M & Vekoma] much closer.

According to RCDB, Fiesta Texas at 701 miles. Next closest, Geauga Lake at 707. I guess a floorless would be a rarity in those parts.

Considering that, I think it makes sense why they would choose a floorless. The way I see it, they can't go wrong either way. I guess I'd pick an invert, but since SFStl has one, a floorless coaster might be more attractive to market.

I think it is safe to say it wont be a clone...
I would love to see a dive machine but for some reason dont see it coming. I think chances are good for a floorless but i dont think a invert is out of the question at all

Does WoF really draw significant business from St Louis?

On the other hand, Heath does mention that my two favorite floorlesses are a *mere* 700 miles from KC. Maybe I should move? ;)

I don't know what they draw now, but they seem to be building up their lodging so maybe they would like to draw more from St Louis in the future.

I think that a floorless design would be good for the park. As long as they could go tall with it. To me, the best floorless models are the ones that are at least 140+ feet tall.

If it's a floorless, so be it... as long as WoF gets a real coaster with some inversions... hopefully it's an invert though :) Thanks for your guys' added info/discussion.

I'd actually hope for a floorless myself. Like many people have already stated. The nearest floorless is over 700 miles away. People in that part of the country need a different type of coaster. To most of them they don't even know what a floorless is.

Im really hoping moosh is right, I'd love for it to be a floorless.

Just to clarify I'm just reiterating what I've heard from various sources. They're not always correct. I cannot say with 100% accuracy what the park is getting.

While there are no close floorless coasters, Wildfire is 'basically' floorless (with the floor). I would even venture to say that more people in Kansas City have visited Silver Dollar City than have visited Six Flags St. Louis.

In other news, I wasted about 30 minutes of my life finding the house I lived in (as well as the houses of my friends) during grade school on that overhead map of Kansas City. I'm amazing myself with how much I remember. AMAZING!

Word, same with me, when I first found it I spent hours exploring it...lol...check out some other parks on it like SFMM and SFGAm, its pretty cool.

lets try a new floorless design like Floorless Rocket, Floorless Boomerang, Floorless Hyper. Yes Floorless would be Awesome cant wait it will be my first floorless seeing how I live in Omaha Nebraska and WOF and Adventureland are my closest parks. *** Edited 6/8/2005 4:34:45 AM UTC by TonyBlackjack***

The thing is, I am 6'7" (I would venture to say the tallest person who posts here) and my feet DON'T hit the floor on Wildfire (or didn't a few years ago). I don't think dropping the floor out changes the experience that much.
