I can think of plenty of coasters that are under 100 ft. tall that I'd rather ride than most of the coasters that are over 200 ft. Big thrills can come in small packages (Cornball) while hardly any thrills are readily available on several giants (MS & SoB). *** Edited 4/14/2005 9:33:15 PM UTC by Incidentalist***

We've said it a million times around here, there is no correlation between the size and the quality of a ride. If I immediately dismissed every ride under 100, 150 feet or so, I'd be missing many of my favorites. If I rode only rides taller than 200 feet, I'd be stuck riding SOB and Nitro.

If given an ultimatum, I'd keep riding the small ones...

LOL, normally I'm not big on making predictions about a ride - but that's a fairly safe bet! :)

I'm sure there's a few coaster equivalents to that, which should start appearing shortly.

OMG only a 100 feet? I remember back in the day when a 100 feet was the tallest out there, and people feared the huge height. Now you have people saying, "it's only 100 feet?" C'mon, if you ain't getting a thrill out of a 100 foot drop then you must be on some really good mind numbing drugs.

Yeah, I ride the BIG ones, Dominator, Magnum, MF, Phantom, Steel Venom etc. All have very LARGE traits about the ride. Such as Dominator has one of the tallest vertical loops in the world, Magnum was the first to break the 200ft mark, MF was the first 300 footer, Phantom was the first to break the 80mph mark, and Steel Venom was the first vertical spiraling Impulse coaster, at 70+ mph and over 180ft it's insaine.

However, even though I ride those, I still ride say, Double loop, or say Big Dipper? Or Space Mountain or BTMRR, and also Corkscrew and Iron Dragon. And everytime I ride those, I get great thrills. How about X-flight? it's 125 feet and one of the best thrills I've ever had.

So where is the shaky hand held video of the ride testing? Someone has to have one!

How could you not believe what beast tamer is saying? He is an expert on amusement parks and rollercoasters. Remember, he has been to at least 4 parks.

We should believe him and his expert knowledge on what people like and dislike. After all, he has ridden son of beast.

According to him, if it is a smooth ride it must not be any good and not worth the time of day. So it has to be true.
