Hydra starts testing!

Over at dorneyonline.com, they show a pic from the webcam of the train going through the jojo!

Member of the last Hercules crew, and proud of it!
I can't see anything, and I looked pretty hard. I also enlarged the photo. Still nothing. Maybe I'll check out the webcam when I have access to a hi-speed connection tommorow. I can't believe you guys up there have to wait 50 more days until open.
You must be looking too hard ;). In this picture from the webcam you can see the train starting through the jojo roll.

I didn't know what that was. It didn't look like a train since it was all blurry and I was extremely tired. Thanks.
at least we know the train did get as far as the beginning of the jojo roll.

that's reassuring.

Can we please come up with something else to call the "jojo roll"? That's just so dumb.

The Jojo Roll is the park's name for it. I'd say it's going to stick.

Next time I get sushi, I'm ordering a Jojo Roll just to see what reaction I get. ;)

I like Jojo Roll for personal reasons: jo is my real first name. my favourite inversions are dive loops though. Actually, I don't really care about Jojo Rolls.

The Jojo Roll though is nothing but a Heartline Roll, like Colossus at Thorpe Park has so many of.

Just out of curiousity: What makes jojo roll sound dumb to English ears?

It's cutesy and it doesn't do much to describe itself.

Well, that and there is a crappy teen singer in the states called JoJo.

Does anyone know if the track is filled with sand like they did with talon?

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Crazy Horse - Talon, which is farther away from the neighbors, is sound-dampened. I strongly suspect Hydra will be as well.
Yes, Hydra has sand in the tracks,

I prefer the 'silent' B&M coasters.

I think I'm officially getting old. :(

Getting? ;)
Hi everyone,

Just wanted to let you know that the other day i was hanging out with some friends, and there was a friend of a friend there who goes to a local performing arts school and got to ride Hydra this past saturday! i guess dorney was filming a commercial or something and he and some of his classmates actually got paid to go ride it! needless to say, i was incredibly jealous, especially since he said it's an awesome ride. he said the jo-jo roll is very cool, and not painful or uncomfortable at all like i was worried about, and that the rest of the ride is very exciting. he rode the thing like 20 times that day!

Anyway, he said there were no technical issues all day so it seems like it will be running well by the time the park opens. i, of course, will be there opening day (hopefully) and will probably do nothing but ride it all day! anyway, just a quick update. see ya

Jojo is actually a talented singer. She just sings crappy pop music. I should probably be shot for even knowing who Jojo is, but I'm not going to lie.

I agree that it is a stupid name, and I think I decided in an earlier post that I was going to boycott calling it a Jojo roll. I'd call it "stupid gimmick loop".

Edit: Removal of even more random sarcasm that only I would think is funny. . .

Down is the new up.
DP should have Jojo (the real Jojo the roll's named after) stand under it and wave to riders on opening day.

NOTE: Severe fecal impaction may render the above words highly debatable.

I don't think it will be thrilling. It is just a standard looper. It's lift is only around a 100'!
Unless he thought he was a loner.

On the bright side, they could have called it an "Esther" roll, then they'd have to have Jimmie Walker there yelling "Dy-no-mite" at every train that passes by.
