World's Most Intense Helix

My vote goes for the beast, and a honorable mention to the rose bowl on SoB. IJST is going to have a insane triple helix in th eparking garage as well. As a whole PKI has the best helixes in the world. *** Edited 3/20/2005 7:23:35 AM UTC by Beast Tamer***

My vote goes for Shivering Timbers and Legend.

I really love raptor's helix but most intense would go to goliath for me. Ohh yeh another great is kumba's.

Damn, you beat me to goliath! Kumba is great b/c on that helix, you can actually reach out and touch the ground from the far right seat. (I dont recommend doing it though)

Goliath (SFMM) for Steel ,Tonnerre de Zeus for wood.

I'll go with SFMM's Goliath, also. Only coaster ever to make me pass out.

Beast and SOB aren't even in the top 10.

How about any Windstorm? Those little guys have unreall forces! Raptor and GOliath are up there too.

Timbers for laterals and SFMM's Goliath for positive G's. I also nearly blacked out on Goliath's helix. I love the Beast's helix, but its intensity is more in the shaking from the extreme speed than the G's. Timbers goes half as fast through its helix finale yet has killer laterals due to the lack of banking and a tight radius. I guess the topic should have been more specific.

Wooden-The Beast, no question, it just goes on and on and on

Steel-Raptor in the back row, want to feel like your feet are being ripped off, try this one Ive walked off quite a few times with two numb feet.

Wood - Shivering Timbers and Beast, I haven't ridden Goliath

Steel - First helix on SROS at SFA or SFDL. Grey out central

It's really a little David-Cronenberg-esque to hear people being excited about greying out and walking away from a coaster with numb feet like that.

Raptor is pretty intense too.

I would also say Golitah at Six Flags Magic Mountain, especially when it first opened, man those were the days. Kumba at Busch Gardens: Tampa Bay comes in second place in my book. For best wooden coaster I would have to say GhostRider at Knott's Berry Farm or maybe Cheetah at Wild Adventures. Which is very intense and brutal because of it's use Gerstlauer trains.

Rose Bowl? yeah right. If you wern't in severe pain, it might be notable, although boring.

Wood:Wild one.

For steel it's a toss up between Superman & Batwing...Supes has got some great head choppers (2nd helix especially) but Batwing's hellix is much tighter & there's this one support strut that gives a great hand chopper effect.

I always pull my hands up when the train hits that section even though I know there's enough clearance.

Has no one been on Twister at Knoebles or Talon at Dorney? These two coasters have the most intense and visually appealing helix(s) of any coaster out there. Twister is just beautiful, with some great G's at the bottom of each helix, and Talons is so full of speed and intesity, but that just proves B&M knows how to build a good ride!

This seems too much like an "est" thread for me, but I'll bite. I'd say that Twister has a pretty powerful helix too, but Raptor's helix really pulls some G's.

I agree with you! I also touched the grass when I was on it. So much fun! : )

My votes go to Raptor and Fire Dragon. They are both amazing and I wish i was right in the middle of them right now. I love both coasters (#1 and #2 on my list) and there helixes are probably the biggest reasons they're there.

The Rattler, only because it hurts real bad and goes on and on and on and on and on, up and down, up and down, up and down.
