Gator Braves the Hurricane...

I just wanted to let everyone know that our community gator, Bill, just hopped online for a couple min. and I got to chat with him on AIM.

He's at work(I think he said), but they did have some damage to their home. He said he probably won't be on regularly for the next few weeks, but I wanted to let everyone know that he is okay.

And any other Florida Buzzers that want to let us know they're okay should do so as well:).

Keep everyone in your thoughts, esp. with Ivan just around the corner.

Cheers for that Clint - I guess Bill will have gotten the vocemail I left for him at work by now then ;) Glad to hear they're both okay though.

The county bldg codes guy/FEMA says our house is a 40-45% loss....seems like it'd be easier to "taer it down" and start from scratch, LOL...

I'll be at work tomorrow so I'll prob. get online then....for now, I get to go and do some more *bilge pumping*...the house was holding steady at about 3 inches of water until we got a temporary roof last night....

Awww, sorry to hear that you sustained damage to house RGW :( Glad u and the missis are ok.

This was one storm where being further south actually was a blessing. We didn't lose power, thank goodness, though there is plenty of debris to go around. That was a storm for the record books.

Now, if Ivan would just stay the hell away we'd all be happier.

I'm glad to hear all of you are okay; at the same time, my heart goes out to people who lost relatives. I'm a college football fan - I heard that Florida State coach Bobby Bowden lost a grandson and an ex-son-in-law in the storm.

I hope everyone that lives in the path of this major storm is doing fine. 13 inches of rain is a lot of rain for 36 hours especially if you live by hills and how fast it has fallen plus type of soil and plants. Good luck everyone down there, I have been watching the weather channel and they have had pretty good coverage keeping people updated on what is happening down there.
