A good ride replacement would be a frisbee ride, they don't need a Huss brand as those tend to be overpriced, a great KMG or Moser frisbee would be a great fit.

Personally, I would put in a Huss Breakdance as others have mentioned, great thrill that doesn't make you too dizzy or sick.

I have been saying a KMG Afterburner for a while now.

Oh, and Paula is HOT :)

I don't know...despite having the S&S tower perhaps the Afterburner is a bit too much of a thrill for HW? I'm still sticking with Disk-O...something a family can enjoy together.

Well, Moosh HW has worked with Zamperla in the past.

We could go with a Santa's Sleigh themed Rockin Tug (I've heard that before) How about an American-Flag themed Kiteflyer?

It looks like Remix is inverted, and is made by Tivoli, rather than Breakdance's Huss.

Zamperla makes some pretty impressive flats. I wouldn't mind seeing one at HW.

Well, as John said up above there somewhere, there really isn't room for much where the Round Up is now.

They'd have to get a kiddie ride or move a smaller ride there since the footprint is so tiny.

All of this speculation is, of course, unnecessary since they've already announced their new addition for next year.

I second the Rockin' Tug...theme it to the Boston Tea Party! :)

HW should buy one of those SBNR Tumblebugs / Turtles, which they could get rather cheaply, put the difference into restoring it, and install it. They would have a great family ride, a vintage ride, one none of the parks anywhere near them have, a ride which can process a lot of people per hour, and one which once in operation does not require much maintenance. *** Edited 9/1/2004 1:03:03 AM UTC by Trekker Park***

Nice idea, but when maintenance is required replacement parts for those rides have to be custom manufactured and can be pricey.

Why is the Roundhouse being removed?

I like the idea of the Tumble Bug but Mamoosh is right- those things are a b**ch to maintain. Actually they're just about impossible to maintain. Conneaut Lake's Tumble Bug is in pieces not because they choose not to operate it but because they can't get their hands on any replacement parts. Supposedly the parts for Tumble Bugs changed throughout the years so it is almost impossible to find parts that work with specific bugs.

I don't know the exact reason for removal. Screamscape has only confirmed it, and Paula hasen't mentioned thats false. I heard it's been down a lot this year, so I figure its a maintanence issue

Ok I have to say this.... Whoever thinks a Disk-O is a family ride must be joking I looked at that thing at the Steel Pier in Atlantic City and said "hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm no biggie" then i got on it and almost lost my lunch.... No ride yet has made me as different as that thing did.

I now have a new respect for flat rides...

I made that comment. I rode the Disk-O at a Mini-Golf park near Knotts. It certainly seemed to be a family ride there as it was families who were riding.

Perhaps there are different ride programs? If so there's no reason HW couldn't choose a more family-friendly cycle than what you experienced at Steel Pier ;)

They could always build that deuling B&M inverted that was suggested in the forums just before last year's announcement. ;)

l. Holiday World is a different park than Conneaut Lake. HW has a long term, qualified, dedicated management team which is in the habit of attending to details. CL has a new management team every season and never knows whether it will be in business from one season to the next. There are obviously ways to maintain Tumble Bug / Turtle rides because parks do it.

2. This is America. We may have exported thousands of jobs lately and closed lots of mills, but we still have several million gifted machinists with the equipment to make things. If a park needs a piece of equipment, it can find someone to make it, and it won't bankrupt them, either. Indiana has little shops everywhere --- it's the land of the 500, remember --- and some of those machinists would do it.

3. We're talking about a circular train here. An Octopus and a Paratrooper is harder to maintain than a Turtle / Tumblebug.
