Well that's what this article says anyway.

Jebus. Your next walk from the TV to the kitchen could kill you, too. And I thought speeding up the heart was a good thing (i.e. exercise).

Yeah, and your next drive to work could be your last. Give me a break.

Aren't the *pre-existing* warnings on rides SUFFICIENT? ;)

What did that article say that we didn't already know? If you have a weak heart, don't ride. What's so hard to understand about that?

Everyone should stay home and watch children shows. ;)

Now I'm no medical expert, but I did just for curiosity reasons hold 2 fingers to my neck to check my pulse going up the lift, on the 2nd hill, and at the end of the ride on S:RoS @ SFA. From what I remember, my pulse changed little to none through the entire ride.

Perhaps it may also have something to do with how scared you are of the ride. Being nervous and/or scared increases the heartrate as well, not just the ride.

I challenge anyone to name anything that can NOT kill you. Sitting in a chair can kill you, using a garden hose, walking to the kitchen, etc. It's all a matter of probability, and we all know the probability of being killed on a coaster is a VERY slim chance, much less than lightning, etc.

Please, that's a load of crap. Try swimming a mile for time where your heart rate is about 180 for about 20 mins.

From the article...

The doctors said the ride was safe for most people, but those with weak hearts should take the warnings seriously

And those with weak hearts should stay away from I-270/US-23/OH-315 during rush hour, but I have yet to see any warning signs around there (except perhaps for "Thru Traffic Keep Left")...

jimmybob, just wait until the big yellow front-loaders start showing up and lanes start closing next year. I don't want to be anywhere *near* the northwest side when that happens.
