I think this is a stock article they pull out for any summer-related story.

Right, if you go to Citysearch, it's nothing more than a regional info site that has polls for the best local . . . whatever. Obviously the folks close to these parks voted more than in other areas cause we all know Astro World has no business on anyone's top ten list.

And it's funny how they have a pic of SFMM's Goliath at the very bottom, but SFMM isn't even mentioned in the article. Great reliable journalism.

Granted, it is a nice park, but still...

Actually, I vastly prefer Carowinds over PKI - better coaster selection IMO. Course, it's also human nature to desire the things that you taste infrequently. :)

Still trying to figure out WHEN this was written...."AstroWorld has the most coasters in the state" would SEEM to pinpoint this article around 2000, before Texas Tornado (Zonga) left, and before Titan and Canyon Blaster were built. Hmmm, still leaves SFoT and SFAW tied for MOST in the state at 10.

Don't tell me "fact checking" WAY back in 2000 was as bad as it is today....;)

CRITICAL when looking at this kind of stuff to check out DATES, because "when" is a crucial question when evaluating parks and rides...

Actually a co-worker of mine said she saw a piece about the "list" last night on MSNBC.

Maybe they just grabbed to stock footage too..LOL

This article is at least 2 years old if not older, written by a freelance writter, who sold it to a number of news outlets. MSN obviously needed a summer-time article and dug this out of their archives, printing it as-is instead of paying the author or someone else to update it.

Time to stop getting so worked up about these kinds of lists, people. In the grand scheme of things this article DOES NOT MATTER!

Coney is tough. I guess these guys just can't take a Top Spin that does 15+ flips or a break Dance that runs at full speed for better then five minutes. Not to mention the El Dorado bumper cars where the sign outside that explains it all.
