You can't go wrong with a road trip that begins and ends with HP...LOL
Seriously, since this is a "Hershey" road trip and HP is one of my favorite parks, I wanted to begin and end my trip there.
The methodology behind my trip is that I don't like to combine parks with a ton of driving so I didn't want to go too far. Thus my longest drive is between Knoebels and SFDL at 171 miles. The only day that may be a stretch is day 11. I have been to DW, but wanted to include it as well (since it is also owned by Hershey)..Still that could be a long day with the long drive between the two parks.
At the same time, I wanted to get some parks in there that I have not been to (Days 3,4,5,6,7,8,10 and half of day 11), with a few of my favorites that I have been to. This I opted to skip a trip that included the likes of DP, SFGAdv, Williams Grove and SFA. There is nothing wrong with those parks, I just couldn't fit them into my plan.
Sean
-now if I only had the money/time to take a trip like this-
Its in a fricken RV that your not driving, who cares how long the drives are. You sleep in the RV.
How about a trip all across the United States going to parks. Can you imagine what that would cost.
According to the official rules:
"Maximum of 8 hours chauffeur driving time per day."
Also:
"Trip includes chauffeur, chauffeur expenses and chauffeur hotel accommodations...Prize includes $6,000 for travel, hotel, gas, tolls, meals and general expenses plus $2,500 in American Express Travelers Checks spending money."
It becomes a bit more realistic when you have to follow the rules - And it's a 10 day trip, not a 12 day trip.
Starting from Detroit:
Day 1: MiA, Fun Spot, then round out the day at IB (it can be done, but if not, drop FS)
Day 2: Holiday World
Day 3: SFKK and PKI
Day 4: PKI and drive to CP for the latter half of the day
Day 5: CP and GL
Day 6: KW
Day 7: Knoebels
Day 8: Dorney Park
Day 9: Hershey
Day 10: drive home.
