the fate of former coaster trains

Just read on another coaster site that Michigan Adventure received one of Dorney's hercules trains. It made me wonder what happened to the trains on deconstructed coasters. Where are the old trains from Arrow loopers Draken Fire, Shockwave, and Orient Express. For that matter, any deconstructed coaster.

Well, I'm sure that Shockwave's trains are still @ SFGaM with the rest of Shockwave, but the rest I'd be interested in knowing as well.

I had heard at one time that Drachen Fire's old train was sold to Circus Circus and it is running on Canyon Blaster.

One thing about PTC's is the parts in many cases are interchangable from one train to another as long as they are in good working order, It wouldn't surprise me a bit to see one of Hercs trains on Wolverine Wildcat.

Well when you've seen one PTC train you've seen them all....the only difference is wether it's a 3 bench or 2 bench model.

If anything I'd like to know just where Python's train is being stored,it's certainly not located in the boneyard where the track is currently sittiing in collecting rust.

I know the old Wildcat trains from the former Elitch Gardens were sent somewhere east, I can't remember exactly which park. As for the Twister trains from the old Elitch's, well those were on the Twister II at the new location up until last year, and now have been sitting in the back ever since. One is waiting to be sent off to the ACE museum, the blue one I believe.

I believe the wildcat trains ended up at Americana on the Screeching Eagle. I heard that some of the NAD train parts ended up getting put on them to make a hybrid train but I'm not 100% on that one.

I belive you are correct, Paul. The top half are PTC and the bottom half are NAD, IIRC. It could be the other way around, though.

Interesting to think about. Makes you wonder why an old Wolverine Wildcat train was sitting at Knoebels last year!

King Cobra's Train and a car are inside of Flight of Fear, and one of the old FoF trains with the OTSR's are behind timberwolf

ROb I am suprised to hear that about WW train at Knoebels. As far as I know they have had the same train since the day it opened they just reapolstered it and replaced a lot of its parts, but I dont thik they ever got a new train. If what your saying is true I would love to see a picture if you happen to have it.
Herc's old trains on the other hand will not end up on WW. Hercs are four seaters and WW's are 6 seaters. As to my knowledge the trains were sent to MIA for replacement parts for Timbers. Those that rode ST last year most likley noticed how rough the trains road, and this year they are much smoother.

I don't have the pictures but I'm sure someone does. They were sitting by the building (food court?) in front of the Mining Museum. I don't ever recall the Wolverine Wildcat getting new trains, so I'm not sure why that train wound up there. Is it possible the MiA had three trains for WW and decided that they didn't need one of them?

I though Shockwave was moved to SFNO. Wasn't it? This is a very interesting topic. I hope more people post.

The other Hercules train is still at Dorney. You can see it if you look to the left when going up Steel Force's lift. Most of the cars are covered, but one is uncovered.

The news about Shockwave going to SFNO was just a rumor. One that makes no sense to me. The park already has a Boomerang and a Vekoma loop & corkscrew coaster. How many looping coasters does the park need?

If you take the train or go on any ride that elevates you at SFGAm, you can plainly see where Shockwave currently calls home.

The other difference between PTC's is that most of the newer trains are using ratcheting bars in place of the old buzzbars which are now far & few between.
