Line Cutting Excuses

What is the most common phrase you hear from someone who is trying to cut you in line?

I often hear "It's okay... my parents are waiting for me up ahead." The funny thing is that they think that no one has ever heard it before:)

I dunno, but I'm sorry to say that in April, people at IOA are gonna ask me what the heck I'm doing, and I'm just gonna flash the line cutting pass that comes with every guest who stays at one of their hotels.

Most likely you won't encounter anyone who will ask you that because the fastpassers have a separate line... Oh, and you will have a great time with that!

I always here our friends are holding our spots up ahead.

Most often I encounter the ignorant people who just try to walk ahead not saying a thing.

One time some dude with an afro was cutting through everyone in the Gemini line, and he was all "I'm not cutting!" About 5 minutes later, I saw him in the last seat on a train rolling out of the station.

I don't think there is any excuse for line cutting, it's just plain wrong.

The next time someone tells you their parents are waiting for them, ask at the people ahead of you and see if anyone will claim them. If nobody claims them, send them to the back of the line.

When I was a ride operator way back when, I would, on occassion, get on the mic and ask the entire line if it would be ok if the person "cut" in front of them?

I can't stand people that abuse the lines, and it is soooo frustrating that there is very little one person can do! So many people that you will be in line with don't have the nerve to actually call them on it, and they don't see any problem with it - "I'm just one person." Yeah, well, so am I, and I have a BIG problem with it. I always hear the excuse that "my friends are holding my place - I had to get a drink/go to the bathroom". My response to that is that if they can't wait the 2-3 minutes for you to be ready, they really aren't that great of friends, now are they?

The only advice I can give to all us faithful thrill-seeking rules followers; just try not to let it ruin your day. They won't appreciate what they're riding anyway, so don't let it ruin your appreciation.

Over the years my wife and I have heard all the excuses.
The most popular one "My family is up there".
We usually just block the que line standing side by side and don't let them through. Usually the rest of the line will then get on the person and send them to the rear. It is funny that once one or two people say no you can't pass us the rest of the line comes alive and voices the same opinion. I agree with Loriu there is no excuse for it and I for one don't mind saying so.
BTW, not everyone in line is waiting for the ride at SFGADV. We found out last year when one person got loud that most of their security staff is now in plain cloths acting like the rest of the park guests and will take action when someone finally calls attention to the line cutters. It seems like they don't want to be ID'd we saw one guy get pulled out of line at the ride gate by a uniformed security guard who was alerted by one of the plain cloths people.

I hate people who queue jump, I am going to admit that I have NEVER done it before and I NEVER plan to do it, knowing my luck I would get kicked out of the park if I did. I too have heard all the usual excuses like

"My Friend is up there"
"We know those people up there so we are joining them"
"we went to get something to eat, and we were in the queue there"(Yes I have heard this excuse)

But may I ask has anyone queued up normally and skiped the queue but not actually queuejumped, if you dont know what I mean,it can actualy be done with coasters with 2 queue lines next to each other and it can be done on Oblivion at Alton Towers

Me and my friend queued up for Oblivion, and were near the top when 1 side has maybe a 10 min queue, anyway we noticed the other queue line didnt have any people in it and we decided to go through that instead, It was hilarious and we just skipped past everyone and WALKED on the ride when others were queueing 10 mins for it. The amount of evil looks we got from people was huge but basiclly we done nothing wrong and was'nt queue jumping, It was all legal ;) the thing that made it funnier was no one else bothered to follow us in the other queue and stayed where they are.
When me and my friend done this 5 times(all with no queueing time whatsoever), eventually someone said to us, why are you queuejumping, I then explained that the ride actually has 2 queue lines so I was'nt doing anything wrong, he then just gave me a really evil look and didnt say anything else. rather hilarious I thought

If anyone ever did that to me, I,d grabthe pass and whip it really far..... You may pass, but you,d have to find you pass first....

If anyone did that to me Justin, I'd be one ticked off guy and hold a very low self opinion of the person who just took my pass. That's something only a jerk would do.

Ive heard everything from, my child is getting sick and i havent rode this yet so can i go ahead of you. From my parents are gonna be here in 5 minutes and i havent rode this yet.

i was in line for S:ROS at SFA and this kid was cutting in front of everyone yelling out "mom" like 50 millions times. i couldn't help but to laugh cause it was so funny we all knew what he was doing. 5 min later standing in the same spot for like 10 min. i saw the kid in the back seat sitting in the check brakes before unloading off the ride. HUMM!!!

A few years ago when Batman the Ride opened at SFGADV security put a system in place. You were given a number when you got into the que line. These numbers were in numerical order and when you got to the entrance of the loading platform your number card was collected by the security person at the door. If your number was out of sequence as the sign read you were removed from the line and not allowed to ride. At that point they gave the person a choice of starting over or leave the park. Most started over. Too bad the system only lasted one season as it sure stopped the line cutting on that one ride.

I hate the groups from Brazil, that there are two or three of them in the line at WDW and then like five minutes before you get on twenty of them cut in front of you.
As for queue jumping and not knowing it, my friend and I were at Halloween Horror Night at USF, and there were really long lines, so an employee let us in where we thought the line started. My parents were a couple of rows ahead of us and later told us it took them an hour and a half to get to there. But an employee let like twenty people in at the point we got in line.

I,d have a low self opinion of anyone who pushes through the line, just because they have a flash pass, and has the nerve to throw it in someone face... That's wrong..... Plus there is a seperate line for flash-passer anyways, so what would they be doing in the normal line anyways?

cedar point did the same thing with the number system.it was a little piece of paper that had a number on it.i could never figure out why they only did this for a short time,and only on magnum.

They used the number system on Volcano at PKD also the first season, the only time I rode it.
