If they were going to lift something off the ground they should just use a helicopter.

alright, I should have written in more detail. I saw it for the first time yesterday, and It is in the back, which looks like Jurassic Park or right near there, like dudley do right.

Tis the season for rehabs.

From the location i would guess it is to lift dudley logs off for refurb but no mention that on ioa website

As for using helicopter it is way more expensive and disney had the airspace restricted.

I know that IOA is going to announce a new ride soon after Mummy opens. Perhaps it is for that? Or, like Jeff said, they are merely doing some heavy lifting.

Or maybe it's taking a break from its migration?

Triceratops Discovery Trail closed midway through my visit in early January. I know this ride's apparently not one of the most popular there, or any good to be honest (I went into it knowing what people around these parts thought, and I tried my hardest to go along with it - it's a great concept on paper, but it just doesn't work). Is/was it just down for annual maintenance, or are a lot of people's dreams coming true?

Maybe the "lost" ride in Suess Landing is finally going away.

You might be more right then you realize, the sign for the "lost" ride has made a reapearance on its' sign post after a long absense according to screamscape (and backed up with a picture).

Every park has crane trucks.

Even little dinky parks.

You can't remove a drive motor, change a lift chain, remove ride vehicles, or inspect hard to reach areas without them.

Touchdown, I don't understand what you mean in your last post. Are you saying that the park put up the sign for Monkey McBeans Driving Machines just before they plan to getting rid of the ride all together? I read on Screamscape that the ride just may be opened soon because the sign has been put back up.

I really don't think that it will open though, because it's falsely rumored to open each and every year.

Wait a minute. I think I understand now. You mean that it wont be a "lost" ride anymore because it may be opened. Duuu...I get it.

Turbo, Universal is always doing something with their cranes. Maybe you saw someone being rescued from the brakes of P-Fliers.

it's still there, it has been sitting "dormant" for four days now.

If I understand correctly (not necessarily a given), this is the SAME one that's been sitting near PF since about the time of the park's opening. If so, it's there "just in case" something happened on P-Fliers and they had to get people down.

Incidentally, I think PART of the problem with the Driving Machines ride was that it was going to be *near impossible* to get people down in the case of an E-stop....Seuss Landing is hard to get into, out of, or even around....unless you're on foot, that is...;)
