Congrats to Jeff for making MSDN Magazine!!!

I was just reading my recent copy of MSDN magazine and was shocked to see an article about POP Forums in there. It was a pretty small blurb but it seemed to give Jeff's software glowing praise in managing forum based ASP.NET sites.

Yes, I remember when I first showed the forum to one of our tech guys (nice guy, Steve, he was smart enough to bail about a year ago). He looked at the 'buzz main page and said "POP forums, you know that is THE sh*t"....

...and to me, here, the critical piece is that Jeff continues to work to IMPROVE on the software that was already more than good enough. Our (remaining) guys can't fix a bug without a case of Raid...;)

Nice. I peeked at the documentation for his objects a month or two back, the boy knows what he's doing...very organized (I can only now appreciate it after battling the .NET demons for the past few months).

Huh... is this online? I don't think I get MSDN Mag anymore, even after they were threatening the end of the subscription after like three years. Which issue and what section was it in? I guess those cats will print anything.

MSDN Magazine is the dead tree branch of the Microsoft Developer Network.

With the help of a couple of people who reviewed the free source code (yeah, the forum is now free), I'm cleaning up the core engine now, and will make a final version of the UI in the coming weeks. The UI here at CB will not change, but you're already soaking in the core engine code. URL's actually parse correctly for the first time ever. :)

If my new job doesn't take up too much time, the next task will be to develop a new version that takes advantage of v2 of .Net, coming later this year.

Uh no... I think you have to be a complete loser to be writing code in an amusement park. You should've asked him if he liked pancakes the way I do, and then you could've been best friends.

I've never written code at a park, but I HAVE emailed it from a rest stop on the way TO a park (deadline...)

I once had to sit for a couple of hours in my Las Vegas hotel room finishing up a component for a tight deadline at work. That sucked.

Doing anything remotely related to work while you're in Sin City is just wrong. :)
