Jeff,

I like so far, but one comment. Is there any way to make the font size bigger on the names? It made seeing who was who a little easier. Right now, it looks to me like the name is even smaller than the "Reply/Edit/Quote" text right next to it.

Jeff, would it be possible to either add a "remove my photo" button, or just have you delete my member photo? It's too freakin huge for my taste, and a bad picture.

It's excellent, Jeff. Truly excellent. I am always amazed how you continue to upgrade the site!

The site looks very nice, just I can't find the bold and italics marks, and the solid line between the post and the signature, as previously stated, are kind of annoying.

I was going to comment that your sig was kind of annoying since it is 7 lines long, but then again, you quote Family Guy, so I don't mind as much.

Good call on hiding email addresses.

Hell, anything that makes spammers' lives difficult is a good call. :)

(Anything that causes them bodily harm is even better.)

Oh yes, that too! Very good move. :-)

I really like it too. I too wish the names were a bit bigger.

I really like the addition of the Club Experation Date in our Account information. VERY helpful! *** Edited 11/13/2003 4:35:18 PM UTC by Sarah Jackson***

Looks like I'm unable to view the PM CPlady sent me with no subject line.. Not sure whats up there, but I think a (no subject) or forced subject on send would probably fix it.

Also: I second the idea of making the names larger. Thought it was just me being half awake last night, but its still small today.. and changing the View --> Text Size doesn't make a difference (hard coded CSS pt values?) *** Edited 11/13/2003 3:56:11 PM UTC by bholcomb***

Jeff, it seems like some peoples websites are not linking right from their profiles. They are linked to

http://www.coasterbuzz.com/controls/ and then their site. Which of course doesn't work.

They need to have the http:// on them now. That's different now.

Jeff - the site looks great! Nice update and I've definitely noticed how much faster it is. Thanks for all your hard work.

Some of us are curious about this new point system. Could you explain in better detail how that works and what types of actions are "point-worthy" ??

Thanks again!

One thing I am disappointed in... as miniscule as it is... is how the number of posts per page has been reduced from 40 to 30. It's not like it took any longer to load up when there was 40 since it's mainly all text.

Although some may call it great... it's even worse on other sites where they have it down to 25 or even 20 per page. 40 was a decent number.

Is there a reason for the reduction in posts per page?

Also, unless I missed it reported by someone else... are the formatting buttons coming back, or do we have to put in the "[b/i]" whenever we want to bold/italicize (sp) our text?

If you don't see the formatting buttons, you're running an older version of IE or have the plain text checked in your profile.

I reduced the number of posts per page to reduce bandwidth usage. I may change it at some point.

Moderators may apply warning points to members who get out of line. Truth be told, nothing has really changed. If you weren't be yelled at by me or other moderators, then you have nothing to worry about.

Jeff, my only complaint (other than the quote tag not working for me) is the line between posts and signatures. It really, really breaks things up and is kind distracting. If the line weren't as thick, or if it was only half as wide as the table the posts are in it wouldn't be so bad.

Other than that, everything seems quite a bit more better.

[quote]does the quote work yet?[/quote]

Jeff,
I am running IE 6.0.2800.1106 and do not have plain text checked and I am not getting the formatting buttons either...

I honestly don't mind the sig separator line. However, in addition to the [quote] tags not working, graphical smilies also don't show up for those of us who use plain text boxes. :(

I love the update, though--looks nice. The 'view posts' feature is most useful! :)[/quote]

Edit: I didn't even add that 'close quote' tag above--nice that it's automatically added for you.

Oddly enough, I don't even see the line between the post and signatures (using Mozilla Firebird). I was wondering what the hell everyone was talking about until I opened Internet Explorer.

Regarding the number of posts per page, wouldn't increasing it cut down on bandwidth by cutting down how many times other page elements (graphics, headers, footers, menus) are transferred? I suppose this would hold true mainly for the users who read whole, entire threads one at a time -- not necessarily those who visit every 10 minutes just to see the latest updates; I imagine your usage stats would paint a better picture of that.

Oh, and I guess I'm the only one who likes the horizontal rule separating the signature; definitely less tacky than a string of hyphens. I think the colored post headers adequately separate each post, so the new HRs shouldn't add much confusion. My only suggestion would be to shrink the sig. text slightly -- say xx-small (or 9/10pt.) I just tried to submit news, and got some nice long error page that starts with: "Cannot insert the value NULL into column 'PostTime', table 'coasterbuzz35.dbo.News'; column does not allow nulls. INSERT fails. The statement has been terminated."
