Will this coaster ever be rebuilt?

I was on the ferris wheel at Frontier City the other day and I noticed that they have moved the Excalibur track and all of it's themeing into a new cleared out area behind the street. Does anyone know anything about when it will be rebuilt or what the situation is? I have searched everywhere only to find useless info. Also there seems to be another ride back there in the new graveyard. It looks quite large, but I can't tell what it is.

Rumor has it that Excalibur was not carefully removed from SFAW and was damaged during the process. It's been sitting at FC for several years, but who knows? They seem to be in the mood to resurrect rides that appear to be long gone.

It had lots of problems with the structure and track from what I hear. It was basically taken down in a manor almost equivalent to that of a wrecking ball. Doubt we'll ever see it back.

If so then why don't they sell it for scrap metal? I mean they're at least taking the efforts to move it around to keep it at hand, while every other ride they tear down is being sold.

Those pictures are terrible and depressing. That's no way to treat a coaster! Like one sided soldier said, at least sell it for scrap or something.

If it is to be rebuilt I envy the lucky park. Excalibur, or Dexter Fresbish in it's glory years, is one of the best mine trains I have been on. As posted above this was not a bolted coaster in parts, but rather a welded solid track. When removed the track was cut badly by blow torches making it look useless for the future.

Too bad... Ican think of a number of smaller Six Flags parks that could use a mine train as good as Excaliber (it was supposed to be, hand-down, the best mine train.)

Including Astroworld.....LOL. Its a shame a nice coaster like that was removed for its poor replacement.

I never rode it, but from the pics I've seen, it looked original and fun...

Well obviously six Flags plans to do something with it. If it wasn't rebuilt because it was pretty much destroyed then why did they take the time and money to move it from one storage area, and then spend money to create and build an all new giant storage area for it ths year? They're not going to spend the money just to tell everyone "That's all folks." (like my Six Flags reference there?)

Sigh. That was the best coaster AW had. The good old days.

I'd love for Six Flags to raid there storage lots and put anything thats in there. Any coasters that are safe enough to operate should go to parks that need rides. If they aren't in decent shape or not safe scrap them. They should raid Old Indiana park. They have 5 coasters in storage there.

That was actually the first coaster I ever rode.

Actually, Old Indiana was sold last year. Some of the coasters there were scrapped, some were saved. But there are no longer five remaining to reconstruct.

Really, SF doesn't have many decent coasters in storage anymore. They rebuilt a couple of coasters last year and there aren't many more left.

Well they've still got Python in storage at SFA...I really wish they'd either get rid of it or just put it back up because it's getting to be a real eyesore.

Actually, I drove by the lot last night at FC. It looks like there is some action going on there. I'm not sure what, but theres some constuction trucks parked inside it. Hopefully this is a sign that something is going on... But they're probably just putting more crap in there.
