Does anyone know of any inverted coasters that run the trains backwards? I don't think I've ever seen this.

Well, many Invertigos and Giant Inverted Boomerangs run backwards, and I guess a couple of inverts too if they valley. ;) Truthfully though, I've never heard of any. :)

I meant full circuit inverts...not boomerang type coasters.

I think an Immelman would be an awesome invert to experience backwards.

I wonder if there's a reason none of the parks have tried turning around their invert trains.

I would think it would be extremely hard to take a whole train off the tracks and simply turn it around and put it on backwards.

They did it to American Eagle. Its not that hard. It can take time but not THAT much effort. I know that it cant be hard if they can put up to three trains on in a day for a bran-new ride. (I think)

They should design a backwards invert and make elements that are suited for the experiance. I say B&M could handle it...

Sure, B&M could design it, but a park has to want one first.

SuperSaturator and Roller Soaker can both be ridden backwards.

For that matter, has any B&M been turned around for backwards riders? I don't believe so.

Yeah, I don't think a B&M invert has been turned backwards, but that would be a great addition to parks for there Halloween activates, since Colossus already runs backwards, more parks should do more stuff like that during Frightfest.

Dudes, it's not like you can simply turn around a train and voila, it can run backwards. The anti-rollback dogs, lift chain, brakes...everything is in a set spot on a steel coaster. If you moved it, I'm sure these things wouldn't line up correctly and sensors wouldn't be met (like the contacts on a B&M hyper coaster train wouldn't work).

There'd be much, much more to it than "just turning the train around" and letting it loose.

I agree with Legendary. There needs to be special desgins on a train if it's going to be run backwards, inverts especially.

I never thought of that. That would be an awesome thing to try. Go on Montu backwards, or Top Gun, darn it anyways.

Another thing that is a factor in reversing trains is the safety factor. If I remember correctly, Kennywood was thinking about turning the Racer backwards for Phantom Fright Nights last year, but they could because they contacted PTC about reversing that type of train, but it couldn't be done safely.

That is probally the main issue why inverts' trains aren't reversed. They could possibly hurt someone.

Can't reverse PTC trains?

I guess SFGAM and the Paramount parks all better turn theirs around then.

MagnumForce, I'm not saying all PTC's, I'm saying the ones on the Racer. They are older ones. I remember hearing that on Kennywood Boulevard or Kennywood Connection last year. Sorry for the confusion.

Well in all honestly, the KW coasters are a bit older and mabye have something different the newer American Eagle and Paramount Racers don't? I'm not quite sure on that one.

Anyone know?
