Re-rides

I think if they are going to dispatch a ride that's got empty seats, then you should be allowed to re-ride if it works out without any problems. It looks much more "professional" for people (especially newcomers to a park) to see a ride filled with screaming happy coasterfreaks than a half empty ride being dispatched (which gives the appearance that the ride isn't very exciting). But that's only my opinion :) BTW -Last week, while vacationing in Florida, went to IOA for the 1st time and got to re-ride Hulk twice...the park wasn't very busy. That's one excellent coaster!!

SFStL is not very good when it comes to letting people re-ride. On the other hand, my other home park of Holiday World always lets me. I can go on a weekday during the summer, and they'll let me stay on time after time, and if there's someone in line for my row, they just let me move to an empty one. This is one of the reasons why Holiday World is my favorite park in the world. Also, the free drink policy helps out a little. ;)

I agree that a full train looks a lot more professional than a half empty train. I really don't know WHY Lagoon feels this way but it may have to do with the safety issue with re-rides. These are two reasons Lagoon does not allow Re-rides, 1) Lagoon feels they will appear unprofessional if they allow re-rides, hell knows why, and 2) Lagoon does not allow them due to the fact re-riding a ride over and over again may be hazardous to your health. Injuries may occur to a guest, and the guest may not know it for a while. Even so, if people want to keep riding, they still will even though they cannot re-ride. I really don't know WHY they feel they would appear unprofessional if they allowed re-rides, but it is their choice, not mine. I can see how Lagoon doesn't want to chance appearing unprofessional, they want to protect their image.

Has anyone ever been on the biggest walk-on in the Midwest. The Excalibur at valleyfair is at the back of the park, the ride is really short, and the train is never more than half full. They have two trains, but I have only seen the second one once. They never let you reride, though I don't understand why. It is a pretty good ride, though short, and it's a good ride to go on twenty times in a row.

I've gotten re-rides on Goliath once, but one time I got 3 re-rides on Riddler's cuz there actually were no lines ceot for like 9 people. I also got an extra reride on S:TE

On the Hulk at IOA they let me switch rows if needed and I was able to stay on for 7 consecutive trains. IOA is REALLY good about this on all 3 of their coasters. BGT is also OK with this policy but they can get on you if you bother to ask. I prefer just doing it at this park as opposed to asking even though I have asked and been able to do it.

At the new Dania Beach Hurricane in Dania, Florida, my daughter and I were made to get off and walk all the way around the station after every ride even though we were the only ones on the coaster for the first hour of operation. BTW, this coaster is really getting quicker and has tons of airtime. The coaster now runs 108 seconds as opposed to 120 seconds about 4 months ago.

I work at the Adventuredome here in Las Vegas and we don't allow re-rides for any reason whatsoever. It's not up to the ride ops, its our policy. There is a camera at nearly every ride watching us and if we get caught we could be in for some serious trouble. Before you sit and criticize the ops just stop and think that maybe they are not allowing you on again because its the policy and not just to be mean. You cannot imagine how many people get angry and yell at us each day over not being able to re-ride. If we as ride ops talked to them as we get yelled and cursed at, they would have some hurt feelings.

Baddboy, I know all to well how you feel. Those of us who work at parks with policies that forbid re-rides on coasters, get hell every day for just following the rules, in order to keep our jobs.
