Kings Island 2004

I just got back from Kings Island today and I thought I would show you all something I found right before I left for the evening. As I was walking by the Eiffel tower, towards the back they were assembling a statue of what appears to be there "advertisement" statue (if you go to PKI every year for the past few years, they have been putting up statues or little scenes to advertise for there new rides)for the upcoming year.

Maybe its for that B&M that is rumored to be built next year. If it is, it sounds as if its going to have a pretty interesting name. If not, i really wonder what the statue is for. What are your guys' thoughts?

Does anyone know if Gladiator was in part a paramount film?

On a side note, the statue might not be finished for a while. The part where the lion is attached to the has been severly fractured (big crack). But I will be going back in a few days, so i'll see if anything new has occured and if it has, I will post some new pictures.

Gladiator was a Dreamworks/Paramount Picture I believe. A Gladiator themed, B&M coaster sounds like a good idea to me.

The statue is of Julius Caesar that's all that I know. I think it is an advertisement.

Hey look even closer, its a statue sitting down, maybe it will be a "sitdown" B&M, more clues to ponder. (sarcasm). Then again, the statue is cracked/broken, maybe that means it will be a Vekoma (more sarcasm)

The 2003 season just started. Why dont you enjoy it before speculating about 2004.

My sources indicate the ride will be named Circus Maximus and will be B&M's first and most elaborately themed indoor, totally enclosed carousel. There will be a sit-down restaurant and souvenir shop at the exit, if that helps.

B&M is so been-there, done-that times ten in Ohio. I hope they have a more original idea...

Gladiator is a Dreamworks/Universal Picture. It doesn't look like Tomb Raider theming to me, but there's a TR Stunt Show coming to PP this summer. I know it's going to PC then PKI, so the TR-ride rumors for PKD might prove false as well.

That does look very Busch Gardens-ish, and I don't think they'll paint that statue, otherwise it would have been before assembly. (least thats what I think) Since this things going up now, I assume it may be covered or the new project may be announced soon, but you never know...

Of course, everyone on this board will be speculating what its going to be, so with that in mind, I can only hope for a very Big Arrow coaster.

That type of theming says "water coaster" to me when I think of the Busch parks although it could be something "big" like Goliath or Titan used at the SF parks *if* it does have to do with the statue. I wouldn't be surprised to hear an announcement in the near future whether it has to do with this statue or not.

The thing that I find odd, is that it appears to be near the rather large grassy area that used to be occupied by the Salt Water Circus building. Also, the unused side of the Antique Cars is right back there. Could there be a coaster there? Possibly. Could it be an advertisement for a new ride next year? Again, possibly. However, I think it is a rather odd placement if it will be an advertisement. I also don`t think that there is much room back in that area to build anything huge. Another Huss Giant ride might fit on the Salt Water Circus site. That path is so dead since that side of the Antique Cars closed and Paradise Island Treats are rarely opened. This will be an interesting thing to follow.

SFGAm...When you need a good example of a SF park, this is where you look.

Geez people see markings and its automatically a coaster, they see construction equipment and its auotmatically a coaster, now we are seeing statues and its automatically a coaster.
