CP will never close the line early, the ops at entrance may lie about the wait time, but they never close a line early in my 20 years of existance on earth. Heck when i worked MF last year one day we went down at 3:30 and never went back up but there where people still in line and if it happend an hour earlier we would of went back up, mantinance worked that hard to replace thd drive motor that died in unload.

I also have a MF story, the ride went down for weather at 11:00 at night, and the storm lasted until 1. Did CP tell everyone to go home? Nope, they let everyone ride it which took until approxmatly 3:30 as well. I love Cedar Point!

Ah, remembering history (although I don't think I am old as Dave - no offense), I remember waiting in line for the Sooper Dooper Looper the year it opened for 3 hours.

I remember when that ride was 'the bomb'.

it's not the launch that's causeing the 4 cars, it's the breaks.

Dude... it's not the Brakes!!!!

They are conditioning the Launch Mechanism.... if it was the brakes then do you think CP would have removed every fifth fin on the stationary break run...

Empty trains crawl right befor the retractables... the brakes are in no way shape or form why the 5th car was removed.

I remember waiting about 6 hours for Batman: The Ride at SFGAM in 1992. Crazy long line.

What, in your opinion, do you think the lines will be at the ERT at CoasterMania before the park opens to the public at 10am?

I, hopefully, will be there.

Well, thanks for the smart answer. I was asking peoples opinions based on past CoasterManias turnout. There has to be some kind of continuity with an annual event. Maybe the line for MF during the mania when MF was first open (if there was one then) would be a good starting point.

When Raptor first opened the line went to the entrance of the park. It was about a 5 hour wait.

I went on the TTD on May 4th I got in the line while it was by the power tower(11:00am) the workers stated it would be about 5 hours from that point(I got on at 5:30pm). I waited 6.5 hours mainly because for about an hour the ride was down. As the day went on the line got smaller however I know someone who waited to get in the line- at around 4:30pm he began his wait. He didnt ride until 9:30pm (park closed at 8pm)so he really didnt wait that much less time then we did.
Main reason that it took so long was people getting ILL on the ride! Just as he was about to get on -the car that came back had to be cleaned cause it had vomit all over it!
I would HATE to be the one riding with THAT person in my car!

Over all the ride was Cool....its not scary and it doesnt jumble ya up. Its just way fast. I wont stand in another LONG line to go on it again though. Point-if it is the reason you are going, you wont regret going. If you dont get to go to cedar point much and its the only day that you get to go....be sure to go on other rider first as no matter WHEN you get in the line you will have to wait a while. Dont waist your day in a line that is hours long go on other rides and at 10min before closing time get in the line. The people that work there have to stay till the very last person is gone....if you get on before the park is closed you are on the ride.

HAVE FUN!

Hey, just a quick quetion about the queue itself... Does it have a DJ? Or, if not, a place where a DJ will be once they get all their seasonal employment?

The whole music situation is really BAD actually. The TWO speakers that they have (or at least that is what it seemed) you can only hear at about the 30min- 1 hour wait point. It plays what all the speakers play throughout the park-over and over again.

You have to store everything before you go in line so you cant really take anything with you unless you wish to risk it.

HOWEVER- you could take it (a walkman or gameboy or something) in line for a while and then go on a "pee brake" which the staff lets you do with these little passes. The locker is $1 dollar and it only takes dollar COINS-ya know the golden ones or a bill to make change from....no quarters!

Also if you get hungry you can go get food with that little pass to. The closest stand is BEHIND THE BLEACHERS of the TTD. Like Baseball Hot dog stands.

The first question was about the line.....

Here is the picture of the place where the line started when I GOT IN IT(actually I was just a tad bit farther then this- more along the lines of where the picture station for the ride is).....and after I got in it it got even longer. The ride's true queue actually starts about a couple feet before where the ride beings to go UP. So you can see basically how far away that is.

Well sounds like the wait times aren't all too bad..... Well anyways I was wondering how much shade their is. On a sunny day, is most of the que covered by a tarp or something of that sort? I personally don't like standing in the sun for more than a hour or two. Then I get a little nautious(?) just waiting in line. This is only if the sun is out and there are no clouds.

Well it wasnt a very hot day but the sun was out on May 4th....and thus I am sun burnt. there isnt any covers over the queue line until you are about 1/2 way into it. So use sun screen! I would say you are safe for the 2 hour limit you have though cause it takes about that much time to get to the 1/2 point of the line (once you are in the "true" line)

Oh boy. This is starting to worry me. I thought I would be "in" with this CoasterMania event. I thought that since the park was gonna open at 6am only for club members and that there will be ERT for TTD till 9:30am before the park opens to the public, that it would be a shorter line (possibly 45 mins, or an hour) but I guess that just is not going to be the case.

I remember the longest line I ever waited on was 3 hours for Batman in my homestate at SFGA. It was awfull. The second longest line was for Hypersonic XLC the first year it opened and that was 2 hours. Again. Awfull.

I am really hoping against hope, and may start turning religious, that this line does not exceed those during this ERT. I have NO plans on waiting on line for TTD when the park does actually open to the public because I absolutely refuse to wait SIX HOURS! No way!

But, I guess I'll have to wait and see. Of course, you can expect a TR from me once I get out of there (that is if Breakers has a lan connection to the net).
