Bob Hansen
Operation Wicked Twister
Goal: Lose enough weight (50lbs) to ride Wicked Twister in 2K3
Progress: 25 pounds since 1-1-2003
FYI, from what I understand the entire ride will be removed and replaced with new supports and track *but* with the exact same layout. Not sure why they would do this, especially given the $60million budget they've been given to rebuild the ride, queue, soundtrack, and effects. Seems to me this would be a good opportunity to update the coaster with the latest technology.

Are you ready to fly in '03 SFGAm??? :)
Moosh: Agreed. If it is going to take two years, might as well build something with a bit more zip. Then again, theming ain't cheap, apparently. ;)

Last time i went to Disneyland (Anaheim) i loved Space Mountain, it's thee most thrilling dark ride i'v ever been on (now don't put me down...) and i thought it's slight roughness was great in emphasizing the speed (although it really doesn't go very fast) and the head choppers. I hope they restore space mountain quickly, and i feel sorry for u EV (hahahaha)

Mamoosh, when i visited the park this past Dec. tomorrowland wasnt busy at all and honey i shrnk the kids/star tours had no waits at all and even indy car ride had a very small wait. The only ride in that area with a wait was SM and this part of the park was much slower than any part of the park i visited. Since all the rides /attractions in tomorrowland are dated i can see new visitors going there but i cant see locals spending alot of time there.
Anyway, when I took my first spin on DL's Space Mtn. last month I was appauled by the condition the building and ride are in. I'm very happy to hear the thing is down for its rehab. It needs it badly.
That's not to say it's a good ride. It's a great ride, it's just in deplorable shape... and the WDW ride isn't much better off from what I've seen either.
