"The Mother of all 101's" is probably what they avoided. I had heard that the welders had practically been living in SM at night. Somebody decided to shutter it before something happened.
Who did build/design Space Mountain besides WED? was it Arrow?

ah some confusion here, plz set me straight, is SM going to be redesigned - as i think what it points to on their site-, or is just going to be rebuilt, keeping the same layout?

UK - I've been told the layout will remain unchanged, but all supports and track will be replaced. The ride will receive new ride vehicles, updated special effects, rethemed station, and a more reliable sound system.

Mouseplanet seems a lot more objective these days since Lutz went to that other site. Check out his and the other guys stuff at miceage.com. I don't think anyone could be more negative or bitter toward Disney than that site.

I personally wouldn't mind if they completely changed the whole ride or just kept the ride the same but added a lot more stuff. Didn't Disneyland get new trains a while back for Space Mountain anyway? If so, then the ride should still be the same, don't you think?
