It does seem to have a charcter like Jeff said. I was all hyped up this year to get to Cedar Point to ride all of the "new" coasters (Not necessiarly new, but new to me.) and my most anticipated experience was my first ride on Millennium Force.
This year the new CP coasters I hit were Gemini, Maggy, Millennium Force, and Mantis, and my third to last ride of the night was my 2nd trip on the Force. We hit Mantis, and then Raptor once more right before the queve closed, and then left.
On the whole ride home, I kept thinking about how much I liked the Force and that I couldn't believe I got on it, and I kept thinking about why it was my #1 ride ever.
Then laying in bed that night I was thinking about my experiences at the park. I then got to thinking about Magnum. I thought "Wow, it felt pretty smooth to me and I've been on the Force." and "It had some great airtime." and other things like that. I thought about it some more and I realized that the sheer height and speed and the overbanked turns and smoothness of Millennium Force made it a world class ride, but that Magnum had somthing about it that "won me over".
I don't know if it was the ride, the scenery, the cars, or any other elements of the coaster, but it had a feeling to it that made it "more than a coaster," but an experience. That's why today it's #1 to me.
Long live the Magnum.
