The darkness and walls really add to the experience in the Exterminator. I rode Primeval Whirl a couple weeks ago. I was really looking forward to it, since I hadn't ridden one outside before (although I did ride KP's before the scenery was up.)
What I found was that it wasn't nearly as exciting when you can see where you're going, and when you have big objects to focus on.
All in all, though, I do like the spinning mouse coasters much better than the traditionals. Regular mice do absolutely nothing for me, I wouldn't pass up a ride on a spinner, though.
