Come on everyone...give SFA BATWING a break. I think he's right: Gravity Group is part of S&S, their first woodie is Timberhawk, and SFA is getting a coaster this year.

I understand that GG is not interested in being a contractor. Construction managers oversee the contractors. The contractor uses his money and personnel to build something. The construction manager oversees the contractor to make certain that the contractor performs the work correctly and stays on schedule. In many cases the construction manager is the engineering house that handled the design.

Note that there are somewhat flexible definitions of "construction manager", "construction administrator", etc. To be 100% sure of responsibilities you need to spell them out in writing.

My impression from the site was that the S-M-L designations were not trying to make coaster-wide definitions, but rather to give a general idea of GG's product line.

Example

Prospective customer - "I'm interested in having a coaster built..."

GG - "What kind of size were you thinking....small, medium, or large?"......

I'm sure you're right, EV and I undertstand that - but from many of the conversations I've seen around here most people tend to laugh at the idea of an 85 foot tall coaster as being "large" in any sense of the word. Not that I agree. I subscribe to the "bigger doesn't mean better" newsletter...

Hey, hold on, there: The debate as to what is "big" and to whether or not "bigger is better" are two seperate entities.

Growing up near SFGAm, I natualy consider the 100ft. to be Viper small. But, that doesn't mean I like Mean Streak (all the time).

EchoVictor is completely right. GG gives customers a comparison in coaster height with those renderings. All GG coaster will be custom made. The renderings will probably just stay a digital dream.

I'm not aware of any coupon-actions of the Gravity Group though.. ;)

bill, who certainly doesn't expect GG to be designing anything like Sonny...I'd even be willing to wager that PKI has had a certain degree of buyer's remorse...but ut is awesome to behold, and the ride *does* seem to be improving with time...and money(?)...;)

There are always rides that look nice and fun. Riding them is a different story though...
