Why don't more people head to SFNE?

How come such a low number of people have recorded SROS at SFNE in their logs? It was delcared the best coaster. Even over MF. yet barely anyone has gone there. Lot's of people have recorded SROS at SFDL into their logs, and that coaster hasn't gotten too much acclaim lately. If you havent made a trip there yet, I suggest next summer you head to SFNE to ride Superman: Ride of Steel. If you need proof, read URC's review of it.
Did you check my track record?

I'm one of the few who rode it. I liked it more than that big silver and blue thing at another park too.

2000 stats: 135 coasters in 26 parks
Not Too Shabby For A Summer
I'll tell you why 6 1/2 hour drive and I'm not paying to fly. While SFDL is 31/2 hours and Dorney Park is 3 hours.

Talon is going to rock, roll, and take its toll!
SFNE rules! I live in Maine and was mad because there weren't any major parks near me. SROS is the best, i just hope they get that standup for 2001.
I WILL change that number this season. I think a lot of people thought SFNE was a lot farther then it really is. In November I finally took a good look at the SFNE web site, and at the location and drive time because I am very anxious to get on that coaster!
I got to ride it's brother in Md. and I am still buzzing over it. I too am glad I live closer to these two coasters than you know what.;)

45 minute drive to NITRO!
Yes, Six Flags New England is a gem with Superman: Ride of Steel. Any one who doubts this coaster hasn't tried it. Besides Superman: Ride of Steel, SFNE is a great park with a spectacular selection of flat rides, including my favorite, Time Warp. Who doesn't like countless, smooth, nauseating inversions? :)
PS. You can get some great pictures of Superman: Ride of Steel and the CT. river off Colossus.

...and who declared it the best coaster, even over MF...?

I don't know who declated it best (seeing as how I haven't been on it), but when does most riders mean best or most popular? See: Holiday World.

Don't waste your time with SFNE
I'd really like to go to SFNE as S:ROS looks awesome from the pics I've seen. However, it's more then a 2 day drive to get out there, and I'm not what one would call loaded. So..yeah.

You build it, I'll ride it...eventually
People, don't waste your time on Lake Compounce. Head to SFNE to ride SROS. Paul Ruben, who;s ridden over 500 coasters, as well as countless ACE members have voted and declared SROS at SFNE the best coaster-even over MF. Anyway, don't waste your time at Lake Compounce. It is nothing compared to SFNE. LakeAC just can't stand the fact that SFNE will put Lake Compounce out of business. LakeAC, what are you talking about, 'don't waste your time'?? SFNE is a great park. It's not their fault crowds are there. That's what happens at REAL amusement parks, but you wouldn't know that since LC gets such a low ammount of people there. SFNE is really a good park. Great rides, good shows, beautiful gardens and themed areas. LakeAC, your'e just jealous SFNE will dominate the New England market and has such a better selection of coasters.rides *** This post was edited by SROS221 on 2/11/2001. ***

"Waste your time" at Lake Compounce? Have you even been there? Since when is a park with one of the world's most unique terrain woodies a waste of time?

SROS, we've had this chat before, Lake Compounce is a great park. Boulder Dash is awesome. I know for a fact that you haven't been there. As for SFNE, it's kinda in the middle of nowhere as far as amusement parks are concerned. People from the West Coast, or anywhere that's not within a day's drive, probably wouldn't waste time with a park that really only has one top notch coaster, and a serious crowd problem!!

Yeah SFNE is on the right track but it needs a little more stuff before it becomes a bigger tourist destination. Also, beautiful gardens, and themeing? I don't think SFNE has those. It does look better than it used too but it still has a way to go before it becomes better. As for Lake Compounce, it is a great park. It's very clean and pretty with two great woodies. To me Lake Compounce is kind of like Connecticut's only little Holiday World. However, Lake Compounce doesnt have the wide selection of thrill rides that SFNE has so it doesn't do quite as well with the younger audiences.
sros is among the best as a fact. not because that clown paul ruben says so just because he has ridden so many coasters what makes his knowledge
any more important. i will admit that park is at least 3 coasters away frow being something more than a local destination.
anyone who says dont waste your time with compounce hasn't ridden boulder dash cause that is one gem of a ride
WRONG themeparkne!! they have 2 top notch coaster sros and cyclone. and they are both worth it.
I'm going to try to be objective here. IMO SROS is the best coaster I've ridden to date. I won't attempt to compare it to MF cause I haven't ridden it yet. Even though I live only 2 1/2 hours away from Lake Compounce, I haven't been there yet, nor have I ridden the CI Cyclone. I do plan to change that this summer but thats not the point.

Places like CP, PKI, and BG (and the others) get a tremendous amount of publicity. All those shows about thrill rides and rollercoasters generate alot of interest and curiosity among the GP and coaster enthusiasts alike. They make you want to go there. SFNE doesn't get that much publicity.

Before anyone gets the wrong idea...I am not saying that SFNE in any way is in the same class as CP, PKI, and BG. I'm just comparing publicity. What SFNE really needs is a couple more attention drawing coasters and/or one coaster that is "new and different" to draw people in from farther away.

I for one don't know if I want them to get any more popular since popularity equals bigger crowds. I don't want to see the lines get any longer than they are already. I like to look at it as SROS is kind of a secret to the locals (I use this term loosely).

I find it almost funny when I hear about the one at SFDL. I just rode that one and all I'm going to say is "there's a big difference".

64 coasters ridden of which 43 are steel and 21 are wood.
I think the little kids like to think that they know what they are talking about.

(I mean anyone under 15)
well there getting a floorles and/or standup maybe more people will go ther then.
What's the difference between this Superman Ride of Steel and the others?
