Thank the good Lord it loads faster than the other one, and the webcam works too! :-) Did anybody see they have videos for some of the coasters too. Nice quality even for quicktime.

Interesting how the fact sheet indicates 12 coasters. I guess they finally gave in to the Racer-is-one-coaster argument. It's nice having an enthusiast in the PR department!

keep in mind that three of em are kiddie coasters. Whereas CP's 14 has only ONE kiddie involved. (woodstock exp. is a FAMILY coaster)
beastie scooby and the other one are all classified KIDDIE!!!

Personally, Ron, I don't consider the Beastie to be a kiddie coaster. Yeah the cars are small as heck for someone 6' 200+lbs, but I don't think it should rank in there with the Jr. Gemini or the other 2 (real) kiddie coasters at PKI. Again this is just my 2cents. :-)

I am of the opinion that "Beastie" is just as much of a coaster as Adventure Express. Just cause it's smaller doesn't make it exempt from rollercoaster status. And I don't see any "confrontational" language on PKI's site like "Watch out! We're right on CP's tail at 12!" Because PKI has said many times that they're not into the "most coasters" game. Sure, they want to keep it close, but as long as they are gating the same as CP, there is no reason to keep building coasters for the sake of building coasters. (Not that I'd object! :) ) I know everyone has their own favorite park, but isn't it better to have 2, or now 3, major players in one state. I can't wait to enjoy them all this summer!

Does rolling in the parking lot on a shopping cart classify as kiddie or grown up ride? Too dangerous for the kids since there are no lap bars so it must be big kids ride then. It's even more fun with a cart full of groceries. That'll beat MF, SOB, and G any day.

I do like PKI, but i hate there classic problem of not working queues to capaity. slow moving lines!!!! If the y gate as many and they want to stay competetive i think thats the thing PKI has to concentrate on fisrt, is getting a staff that can get rides out quickly exactly liek CP.. no park is better at doing so! They shouldnt be concentrating on "keepin it close". they are only losing ground by building more rides that they can't operate quickly. In fact i like PKIs ride nearly equally as much as CP's but PKI's long lines is the only thing that keeps my from visiting yearly!

To tell you the truth, PKI has considered that as a problem. The true problem with the lines, however, is more visual than actual. Turnstiles are never opened on most rides to give the impression of a longer line (Vortex). This sends people to different parts of the park, and many different parks use the same technique, as I'm sure you know.
Anyway, doesn't the site look great!

Personally I find "Beastie and Scooby to be "Junior Coasters" and Taxi Jam to be a kiddie coaster. I would put woodstock express into the "junior coaster" catorgory and Jr. Gemini to be a kiddie coaster. That is how I look at it.

Coaster: Well said! It really does help to keep the wait times down. I went last year with my brother and the longest wait for anything was about 30-45 min. (Except for Face Off, of course... And Drop Zone wasn't operating at that particular time due to a broken cable)

face off is nothing more than a vekoma on caffiene(not even steroids). its nothing amazing. why would you wait for a ride that is in just about every park in the US? so my question is why do you use the phrase "of course"???

Well the answer is simple, ROn, it's new. I'd never ridden anything like that till I rode Face/Off. I thought it was enjoyable, but not worth the wait. The under-the-belt tickle from doing it backwards was fun. I'll ride it again this year if the ride time is more managable.

PS Oh, Jenova, the ride times were more like 20 minutes last year. Don't forget we hit 4 coasters in like 20 minutes too. :-)

Don't get Face/Off, whose model name is Invertigo, confused with a Boomerang. Both are from Vekoma. Both have the same layout. An Invertigo is inverted with every other seat facing backwards. A Boomerang uses Arrow-style (PKI's Vortex) trains. Both rides are completely and totally different. IMHO, an Invertigo is a wonderful ride and much better than a Boomerang. Very very strong in certain seats. In a word, it's intense. And as far as I know, there are only three in the us (PGA, PKI, SFO).

Why use the phrase "of course"? Face/Off was the only new-for-99 attraction opened at PKI for the last half of the year. It consistantly had 2+ hour waits.

by being on caffiene im meant inverted but i guess it wasnt clear. The forces are little stronger but its not that amazing of a ride
