A couple Face/Off Questions

Homer Simpson

I was thinking about the ride Face/Off at PKI. Is it designed by Vekoma? It uses the standard Vekoma Boomerang layout so I was thinking that it was Vekoma, but that also brings up Deja Vu; who designed that?

The other question I had about it was are there any other coasters like it where you face other riders? I really like that because you can see the other people riding with you.

Thanx.

Vekoma designed Deja Vu, the standard boomerand, and Invertigos (Face/Off)

Matt beat me by 10 seconds...

There's an Arrow minetrain (forget the name) somewhere where some cars are mounted backwards, so you can see the people in the car after you.

Other than the Invertigos (PGA, PKI, SFA), the only other U.S. coaster where you face the other riders is probably LoCoSuMo...

All Made by the infamous Vekoma...Also their is 2 other coasters just like face off in operation...these 3 are the only ones were you face other people...another ingenious idea by vekoma...Their rides might be a LITTLE rough but they got some great ideas.

Adix,

You're thinking of ThuNderaTion at Silver Dollar City. As for the facing each other, I love it! It's a great quirk and fun to see first time riders faces.

Wouldn't it be great if those dang wing seats on Deja Vu were facing outwards. Now that would be cool, but again, probably bang you around like all get out.

BeastFreak,

It'd also cause you to be lying on your side on both the towers. Don't know about you but I think that would hurt.

Actually, to correct MikeMirs post. There are three Invertigos in the U.S. PKI, PGA & SFA each have one. But there is at least one overseas.

Not always do they write it like that. Most people write it regularly but it's that way on the parks brochure and the actual coaster, if I remember correctly.

Maddy, are you *suggesting* that the name Hang Over doesn't translate well...;). Yes, that was the first....

I was thinking only of face-to-face seating WITHIN the car....I guess other ways of F2F seating also *could*
qualify...

...or, could I be suggesting that it translates *perfectly* :)

While other Vekomas are often rough, I've generally found the Invertigos to be fairly smooth. They are also much more intense and entertaining than standard Boomerangs.

Jim,

Just two weeks ago I was riding Boomerang at WA and found it to be just as intense as the invertigo I've ridden!(Face/Off PKI). I didn't find it to be much of a headbanger either. But, the others that were with me thought it was. Thank god Hangman(the SLC) wasn't open. ;)
