Aparently the net wasn't in place when the 13yr old jumped.

Chuck, who wonders how this could happen?

We got down to IAAPA today after the incident, and the SCAD tower was closed. Scary to think I jumped off that sucker Wednesday afternoon....hoping his injuries heal and he's OK...really makes you think...
edit: It was a nylon net, not an airbag....my guess was a little less than 50'. The attendant un-hooked the cable suspending the rider, and they fell into the net, which was suspended *about* 10-12' off the ground. My *understanding* is that the net hadn't been raised into position before the attendant released the kid....

The airbag that they are talking about was put in place b/c of the heavier guests becoming extremly close to hitting the ground when hitting the nets. They placed a small airbag there to cusion the guest a little more just incase.
EDIT: I heard two rumors already...one, cables snapped. Two, net wasn't up (which I can understand b/c there is a second op controlling the net from the bottom of the scaffolding)
