Any body miss The King CObra

Hey, if you went tot PKI this year and have been there before, did you miss The King Cobra? Or did you just not notice it was gone or just not care?

Yes. I miss my all-time favorite Stand Up.

That helix after the loop was second to none!

Heck yes! That was one of my top 2 or 3 rides in the park, and my fav stand up, just over Iron Wolf. Most airtime in the park! :) I hope it shows up somewhere else. Great ride.

The ONLY steel coaster with trick-track...darn right I miss it! Terra Mitica had *better* get this ride before it turns to dust in the boneyard...

C'mon Paramount, time to learn something from SFI....did I just *say* that...;)

Sorry to say I just don't miss this coaster. Although there were fun elements to the ride, the outstanding wait and difficult restraints kept me from riding this coaster more often.

9/12/02 Pearl Jam releases Riot Act. 9/12/02 I go into Pearl Jam overload.

The last time i was on the coaster, I was stuck on it before we got to the station, for around 10 minutes. Now, this was very uncomfortable for a 6'3" guy. They wouldn't let us out for that whole time. But overall, i do miss it, *tear*.

I'm just glad I got to ride it twice.

Was it anything like Shockwave at PKD because that is the most painfull ride I have ever been on. The restraint hit my jaw 4 times during the ride causing me to feel as if my ear was bleeding (only coaster to do that btw).

If King Cobra was anything like Shockwave then I don't understand how it could be at ll enjoyable.

I do miss it, although I complained about the ride the last few times I rode it, but that was just because of it's age and *OUCH* factor. Still, I miss it. I felt very sad seeing it being dismantled. I never thought I would be so sad to see a coaster go that I didn't even care for anymore.

It was an amazing ride at it's prime, and I remember having to stand in line for at least 2 hours when it first opened. I remember feeling damn scared the first time I rode it also, as I did my *first* times on the Beast, Bat, Vortex, and Drop Zone.

The TOGO's are obviously not as intense as the handful of B&M stand-ups I have been on, but they have their own unique, awesome elements that still has me hoping that Shockwave at PKD will stick around for a long time. KC got pretty nasty there at the end though. The restraints weren't exactly comfortable.

In any event, I am beside myself in anticipation for Delirium, since I love the frisbees.

I missed it this summer. It's always been a part of a trip to PKI for me. I was sad to walk past its lot and not see it there. I thought it looked pretty neat when they repainted it with the alternating green/yellow track sections. Still nothing (coaster related) depresses me more than to walk past the Zinger's lot at Worlds of Fun and see a frickin' Boomerang in its place....very sad.

Thankfully, no....NOT like Shockwave....horrendous restaints on Shockwave at PKD....when the op running it was talking to me, I was ALONE on the back row (with my shirt, he ID'd me as an "enthoosiast" and talked a bit with me...ride comes back, he asks if I want to re-ride (I *have* mentioned what a great time we had at PKD, fantastic employees)...I politely declined, but can't wait to get back to their park...even if I'll ride in the front next time...;)

Well, after riding Skyrider at PCW, I can see where all of you are coming from. Skyrider was the surprise gem at PCW in my opinion and the strange restraints were undoubtedly much more comfortable than B&M's wide crotch tormentor (I still like Iron Wolf [being my only B&M Stand-up]).

No, King Cobra was a piece of junk. The layout was uninteresting and the restraints were *awful*. KC was the only ride to ever make me claustrophobic and from the moment we were strapped in I couldn't wait to get off. Delirium is a fantastic replacement.

I worked at KI during KCs first season. Sure it didn't have the technology of B&M Standups, but generally the "first" one doesn't have all the bells and whistles. I was saddened at the news of its demise, and missed seeing it when walking through what was once Oktoberfest.

Yeah, it's sad to walk by there and not see it. Especially not hearing the VERY LOUD crashing sound of a train hitting the ready brakes from halfway across the park. That was always my favorite part. :)

While I hadn't ridden King Cobra, I did *gasp* enjoy Shockwave at PKD, partly because it's my first and thus far only stand up. I love the helix after the loop, it's crazy.

I missed looking up from Son of Beast and seeing KC broken down on the lift every other cycle.

I really loved that ride cause it caused my brother pain.

Its a stand up. Theres nothing to miss. None are very good. (at least ive never liked any of the 3 ive been on)
