Is there a name for the situation when trains are leaving the station faster than they're coming in? i.e.: the opposite of stacking (see: Phantom's Revenge).

Interval..........meaning the ride is running with trains dispatched at the correct interval for maximum capacity. At least that's what the Raptor crew always called it. In fact I think all the coasters at CP call it interval, well those coasters that it is a possibility.

Or, if at any Six Flags park- well, nevermind I don't think that will happen...

I've seen Six Flags' parks hit their marks a number of times. Most common this tends to come from SFStL and SFGAm.

I've seen many SF coasters not stack this year! (It's kind of hard when you run one train on a coaster designed to run 2 or 3!)

Then how could you stack trains if there is only one train?

The term we used during my tenure as an op at Raging Bull was "rolling." If you were consistently hitting interval, you were rolling the trains in.

Ahh, those were the days.

Try reading what I said again. You got it wrong.

Yeah, the Raptor crew is definitely the opposite of stacking. My friend timed the intervals between train dispatches and the fastest time was around 44 seconds with the longest being somewhere around 56 seconds. That's some pretty fast moving!

What would we all do if roller coasters became non-existent???

Today, for one shift (around 5:30p) on Nitro, the ops were definitely hitting interval. Most trains were getting out as the previous one hit the top of the twisting drop and few made it out right after the prev. train cleared the lift. Of course, once the shift change occurred, we went right back to stacking a three train op.

At PKI, it's usually referred to as having the trains on time.

I've seen trains on Timbers miss a block violation by 1-2 seconds because a train was sent out to early.

At the Adventuredome its called hit interval or get fired....

One time one of the supervisors told me to run 30 second dispatch intervals...the park op office is right next to the break run and station.

That's why they're are computers that will stop rides when humans make mistakes. :)
